CLOSED A long way to travel to see closed restuarents. I could take you around Willesden at 3am for that LOL
Great final line. You painted a masterpiece with just a few words.

Mmmmm God, that's a difficult one.. You can't do everything.. I would save it for another time as, like you say, you are def going to be returning. Seeing as there is so much to see and do it would be a waste spending another week in the same place just to then spend another 5 days of of your whole trip. Also, alot of posts on the net say that, although it's worth it, it's really hard work and very very difficult trek in such heat. Read this: http://www.travelpod.com/travel-blog-entries/jeffsadventures/jeffswalkabout/1105905780/tpod.html and I found this : "This trek in the Colombian jungle is 52 km of pure sweaty hell. There are several river crossings, numerous mountains, thousands of slippery tiny stairs, a hundred billion mosquitos, and the Colombian military thrown in the mix for good measure. You pay a campesino to guide you through this “green hell” to the lost city of the Kogui indians, the only indians on the continent not conquered by the Spanish. The city is frankly not that spectacular, but the journey getting there is forever burned into my psyche " It was taken from here: http://seandavisphotographic.com/blog/?p=123
Your gut instinct will tell you what to do now..
Lets hope all three readers respond too ;-) (Only kidding)
xx
YES! To quote the famous Greek god of victory: "Just do it!". You don't know WHEN you'll be in Colombia again and if this is one of the major things to do then you should do it. It will be less embarassing than meeting fellow travellers in 3 weeks time and saying "yeah, I was up in the north but didn't bother to go and see the lost city". I should know this feeling - I've lived in Wimbledon (nearly) my whole life and went to the tennis for the first time 2 years ago... It's also a bit like being a Brit abroad who doesn't know much about football.
Caught up! At last! I'm up to date on your blog. Superb writing there Chris, and some really excellent photos - you have a great sense of involving your readers, so thank you for making the effort to do this! Hopefully it's a great way for you to remember what you've done too... And you're utterly nuts to go caving! :)
KFC - Kentucky Fried Culonas? I can't BELIEVE you opted for the crunchy fried ant steaks! A world away from Pret on Cannon Street... though maybe we should put in a request if it was that good...?
WOW.. what an adventure. It was really exciting to read about how you felt in the cave. I would have been quite scared especially with the British distrust of people hanging on me like a dead weight. It reminded me of the film Touching The Void where the fallen guy descends into a bottomless dark crevice not knowing where it would lead or if he would ever get out alive again! Of course, your guide wouldn't have much of a business if he left all of his customers down in the cave LOL...More heavy rain today.. oh hum.. Enjoy!
FAT BOTTOM CHRIS Great photo's.. The church look stunning and, like you say, very cool. I can top you on the ants. I've eaten cockroach in Barcelona of all places. They too were very crunchy and tasted disgusting LOL..I don't recognise the flowers at the bottom of this page. They look stunning though. The whole place looks great and, clocking the prices, is seriously making me wanna follow your footsteps!! Ah.. I've just seen that someone else has recognised the flowers. Well done Josefina.. and also well done for someone else finally posting a comment. Bet you did a cartwheel ;-) Stay safe xx
A good morning read Hey Chris, I was getting withdrawal symptoms without my daily fix of travel blog! Your writing is so good, just pulls you in, almost like your there yourself. You are a clever chappy! It made me laugh about running to board the bus last. You should have been first in the Q.. Upholding the British way of life ;-).. stiff upper lip and all that. It was only a bit of rain.. hehehe. It's been constant rain over here. Next time.. take me with you!! Looking forward to hearing all about San Gil. P.S: If Monicas always right.. can she guess what the lottery numbers will be Saturday?
bin Hi chris,
we had to do that on holiday one year, think it was either greece or portugal, so i can relate to the whole getting to grips with it thing, but you're right in saying that you get used to it, just remember to get unused to it when you get back! lol
Cermamics Amazing photo's especially the ceramics factory. And that toiler looks groovy man. I want one. Can you bring me one home and the wall surrounding it LOL.. I love your camera.. I may just have to buy one myself. Be safe xx

Longaniza Fab photo's and account of your time in Villa De Leyva. It looks such a lovely place. I'm sure your gonna find many like this
on route that you don't wanna leave so soon. Which is the great thing about your travels. You don't have to leave! :-)
Gordon's mouth was watering when he saw the photo of the Longaniza! It's his fav sausage of all time LOL. Keep em coming. Great fun to read! Stay safe.. x
Comments God, Am I the only one who comments on your posts LOL .. I must get out more.
Sounds crazy but I guess you nailed it on the head when you said you wouldn't have changed it for the world. How exciting!
You were being so British clinging on to your seat for dear life. That made me laugh! It's trying to snow here whilst the sun is out. Bet you have forgotten what snow is like hehehe.. Stay safe. x
Warts Thanks for the bog update LOL.. Luckily I had just eaten LOL.. The hostel looks really nice. I too have pre set ideas about hostels but actually, after staying in a few in Derbyshire, my opinion changed overnight. Love the name Cranky Croc. Is that cause it's run by an Aussie?
Welcome to Bogota! Great to hear you landed okay Chris. I am following your blog with great interest. It's really good isn't it. You are all those miles away, and yet we can hear from you and see your pictures quickly. I am going to enjoy my trip around South America with you, but do take care. All my love and best wishes. Elaine
Hey sounds like you had a lovely day.. It's great you met someone to take you around. Nothing like befriending a local. Great photo's too.. keep the posts coming. It's great reading what your up to! Mind the deep fry stuff..or you'll need an extra seat on the plane home. LOL
Unaccustomed as I am to public writing, I'll keep this short.
So the plan is to jet off to Bogotá 15th February, take in Colombia, Ecuador, Peru, Bolivia, Chile, Argentina...and maybe a quick dip into Uruguay for good measure. I just have to make sure that I reach Buenos Aires on or before 31st May for my flight home.
And this is where it's going to be documented...the good bits and the bad bits...hope there won't be too many of those!
I'm pretty useless at keeping things updated so Im going to try to get into the habit by starting now - 1 month (ish) from de... full info
