December 28, 2007 / Raglan Rainy day today, so we decided to go to the Waitomo Glow Worm Caves. We ended up on a “scenic” coastal drive, which was not in the plan, and 3 hours later finally arrived at the caves. This would normally have been about an hour’s drive. We did see some stunning coastal scenery - cliffs, the beautiful Tasman Sea, crashing waves. We even found a parcel of 35 acres with a nice flat building site that was affordable. The downside was the hour’s drive to the nearest convenience store on a dirt road. Just a tad too remote for us, I think.
