The pain of loss
While I'm lucky enough to have six beautiful adult children, over the years I've also has six miscarriages so I do have some small understanding of how you must be feeling. Peace & love to you and your partner and those future children of yours!

We love the Bernese Oberland...
spending many vacations there when we lived in Europe for 18 years. For the most part we stayed at the little inn at the end of the Lauterbrunnen Valley, in Steckelberg. But I remember staying in Wengen and skiing at Kleine Scheidegg...an 8 km run back to Wengen...perfect weather and deep powder. Wengen is also good for hiking in the summer...we would catch the cable car to Mannlichten and hike from there to Kleine Scheidegg and down to Wengen. It doesn't get any better than this! Thanks for the memories!

I like the way you plan trips...
value for money and efficiency. It's also good to get off the beaten path...the one not promoted by travel magazines and tourist agencies.

Stockholm Card
Hi Ms Ariyanti While you visited Stockholm, did you buy Stockholm Card ? is that worth it ? Thanks a lot for your help
2nd July 2013

I think it's worth it because transportation and entry fees are expensive. To be more sure, suggest you to list down and calculate how much would it cost without the card.

Thanks for visiting Denmark
Hello Miss Jalan, Thank you very much for visiting Denmark. I hope you enjoyed it and want to come back. :-) I have travelled a lot in Asia so its quite funny how we cross the world to see different cultures. I also want to add as much to the map as possible. I have unfortunately never been to Indonesia - but Singapore I did visit. I am writing a travel site currently at www.LuxuryBackpacker.com trying to deliver information and ideas to people who are matured and want to travel still around the world. Do you think I should do a section about Denmark? I know I did not travel in Denmark but maybe I could give some good insight on how to save money etc in the country. How to get around. Take care and Enjoy. I never wrote in this site before so I am unsure if I will get an email if you reply me. Best Steffen

hi Steffen, thanks for stopping by. I don't see any reason not to write about Denmark - it's a nice place to visit. I don't think you'll see this reply unless you go back to my blog :)

What a great story!
I was just at MSM about 3 weeks ago...

How romantic...
I hope you can arrange soon to have both your jobs in the same city. As for touring country sides, I recommend a rental car...a week would take you to Giverny, Normandy, MSM, Karnac on the southern coast of Brittany, and back to Paris along the Loire River with its chateaux. Of course, once you have a car you are free to go anywhere!
29th May 2013

yup, agree, definitely it's better to rent a car for freedom :)

Delicious blog and great tips. Sounds like sharing is a good way to justify the calories and prices. ;)
29th May 2013

ha ha yes, in concept it sounds romantic too; although in reality it was quite messy with nutella all over our faces :)

Sugar Overload!!!

Sneaky waffle pricing!
Wow, those waffles look fab...yes, a huge calorie count but worth it! You should have tried the chocolates, Belgium chocolate is unbelievably good. As you say though, it gives you an excuse to go back!

Sugar Overload!!!

yeah, now I wish I tried some of those chocolates - well you're right, there's always an excuse to go back :)

Brussels without waffles and chocolate is...
well, NOT Brussels. We lived there 11 years, so thanks for the memories. Do return sometime, and also visit Brugges.

Travel tips
Thanks for all the tips, especially those about the 'scammers' in Montmartre where I'll be staying later this year. Although I have been to Paris a few times before (from Sydney Australia) and I've never had any of those sorts of problems it is handy to be reminded of what to look out for. And although I've been to Versailles before (28 years ago) after reading your blog I've decided I'm going back. You've made me very excited about my forthcoming trip!! Many thanks.
