Thanks, Meghan and Kwesi
I enjoyed the Maligne Lake trip together, we were indeed blessed with better weather than we could have been. Now, my thoughts go out to folks in Calgary and area who've been affected by flooding. Hope you guys are high and dry there. Bernie

Calgary - Flooding
Yes, we are fine! Our family is all lucky to live on hills. The history of how some of the areas in Calgary were built is coming out of the woodwork... There are consequences to living on rivers and on top of swamps. :-( We are focused on getting things ready for the Stampede. Everyone in the city is working together to help everyone out. It's quite amazing! Renews your faith in humanity for a bit.

Our weather has been up and down, hot, cold, storms, etc. Only in Alta. it is going to be 29 to-morrow (Thurs) I just don't like the heat that much. Sound like you are all having a wonder- ful time. boobies!
The blue-footed boobies are so cute! Wish I could meet one in person. Were the males showing off their feet to the females? (i.e. was it mating time?)

I enjoy reading...
Hey, thanks for inviting me to the blog.... Since I know this is also a school trip I thought I would post a question I stumbled upon in the information of this post. The local people have complaints against large corporations because of the increasing occurrences of skin cancer among the community but are planning on taking advantage of the free public school system. My question is: who is funding the school system, are they in anyway related to or funded by the big corporations? If so, does this equate to the large corporations paying off the locals for the problems they are causing? Are they using the public school system to train thair next generation of workers? What would the community look like without the public school system (or without the large companies?)?

natural habitat
Thanks for the photos of the blue footed boobies. I've seen them in zoos but never in their natural habitat -- how delightful. All those beautiful birds, and fish and whales to say nothing of vegetation, peoples, topography--what a wonderful experience. My best to all of you and to Dr. Z as well.

We are a lazy generation and yay for washing machines. That and the fridge are probably the two appliances I don't think I could live without.

Re: Your trip
Hi again. Sounds like you are having a wonderful trip. Your story telling is very interesting. Did you get to see the inside of the church? Off to the parade in the morning, if I can drag myself out of bed. It is very hot this evening, so may be up half the night trying to get to sleep. Have a safe journey. Anne
