Just bad English translation
The correct translation in the picture on the left should be "Students and soldiers have priorities". The correction translation on the right should be " Do not use (the toilet) while the train is not in motion".

Thanks for your blog
Hi Mark: I spent a month in Kham, eastern Tibet last summer and want to go back so badly, it hurts! Thanks for letting me live vicariously through your blog. I started a blog about my trip, but have been severely sidelined. More entries have been written though, and I'll start posting again late summer or early fall. http://rigzinstibetblog.blogspot.com if you're interested. Enjoy the rest of your trip. Rigzin
