Thank you... 'dangerous levels of boredom in the workplace'.... Thank you, Mark. I'm still here.
But I'm going to NZ and Aussie in two weeks!! For four months, whoohoo!!
Chengdu taxi rides and getting dressed up. Twice. Chengdu, I reckon is a nice place, though I haven't been there yet, but some of my friends were able to live there for a couple of months and they thought Chengdu was a nice place.
:) No idea who the girl is haha, just a random... The Chinglish is indeed a great source of entertainment, and there'll be plenty more with future blog entries :).
Hey Mark, love your comments on the English language mistakes you see over there! Quite some good oppotunities to teach, I would say.

A great story Sabaidee Sarah and Mark,
kawp jai so much for sharing your escapades with me on these miraculous months of your lives.
I envy the spirit with which you travel with open eyes in the eternal search for devouringing pork scratchings and taking a peaceful kayak ride being introduced to massive jumping spiders and swarms of weird beetle like creatures. You made new friends in another country and will always remember them, I am sure.
Yet I do wonder why you did not wake up at "sick o'clock to watch the alms giving"? You Lazy bones !
Oh, if you have not already done this, I suggest you send an invitation to Patrick at commandopat@hotmail.com as I feel absoliutely certain my Son will enjoy reading about yoru adventures.
Have a thrilling week - wherever your curious nose brings you two and good luck.
Howard in Holland
PS, I have been doing my family geanology for several years now and believe it or not I actually discovered some of my ancestors here in The Netherlands ! It is amazing but TRUE !!
After visiting a few libraries and checking birth records, etc., I traveled to Apeldoorn and met some past relatives !! It was a fantastic moment to speak with and shake hands with a distant relative. WoW!! If you survive your world adventures, then you too should go to Apenhul and complete your genealogy !! have a wonderful week Mark. I have not met Sarah, but if she is as goofy as your way of describing new countries, then I sure she is wonderful!
Adios for now !
You are a batty no matter what you do.... ha! smarkus! Jumping out of a plane you complete mental nutta! I am well jealous as that is something that i definately want to do....
Dude; all the best to Sarah and keep the stories cuming,
laters....
I'm worried Mark,
I'm a little bit worried about you... Doesn't that view of white sand , crystal clear seas and palm trees start to bore you after a while?
Nice! Hi Mark!
It's good fun to read your blogs. We can all vivid imagine your adventures. Reading it gives us the well deserved distraction from our hard work. Keep us informed of the tuktuks, possums, ripoffs, local habits, and new stuff you encounter... We count on you!
Enjoy your time together with Sarah!
Greetingz to you from the beautiful building in Zoetermeer,
Best regards, Jan Willem

After a few years of the daily grind, I quit my job, bought a few plane tickets and set off around the world. After a 46 hour flight from Amsterdam - Auckland (with layovers), I arrived in New Zealand, where I spent two weeks. I then flew to Bangkok, and spent the next three months or so making my way through Thailand, Laos, Cambodia and Vietnam. I walked accross the Chinese border in July 2008, with six weeks left until my flight home from Shanghai.
Those six weeks were of course never going to be enough, and I have still never been to Shanghai... I decided to let my ticket expire and stay... full info
