After a twelve hours flight from London Heathrow to Hong Kong, five hours later we were on our way to Singapore. We arrived at our hotel in Clark Quay just after midnight. This meant that we had left home Sunday afternoon and arrived at our first place of call on Tuesday morning. We were pleasantly surprised by the 30+ temperature at midnight, especially when we read our family's emails reporting freezing conditions back home. We were enjoying a good night's sleep, catching up on what we had missed until the local travel representative phoned at 0800 to ask if everything was okay.
