Sandstorm pictures Thanks for sharing the pictures and telling us about the sandstorm. I wonder how fast the wind was blowing to creat that. Nature is pretty amazing. Hope all is well, buttercup.
That mall is ridiculous! Reminds me of something straight out of Vegas...like the forum shops or something. Thanks for sharing those photos. Hope all is well, pookie! We continue to miss you.
Lovely Pictures Hi Lexi,
I've been remiss up to this point; in that I have not commented about how well you pictorially document your travels. I appreciate those pictures alot, keep them coming! Personally I would never go to these places, even if it was free. But it is nice to see them though your eyes. I guess that is the point and meaning of a travel blog, right? I hope you find whatever it is you are looking for in the many places you go...the god of wine travels far, and cancels out the days. I can't keep it all together. The carbon footprint and the look on everybody's face. The many lies people tell and yet they feel so all together. Being herded like some prize cattle through so many gates. Winning? If it seems like they know not their own minds, they most probably don't. Money breeds a loose mind. Work tightens and strengthens a cool intellect. My advice: work hard, really, really hard. Learn all you can of the Arabic and then get the hell out as quickly as you can.
Im sooooo tired. Hi Lexi,
I can't imagine just getting settled into a place to to point that I rant about the traffic, and then pick up and leave to a worse place. You is so spatial. :-0.
Come see us in central America some time, we're boring but solid.
Humor evident, hopefully not irrelevant! Laters dudette~!

Parking on the sidewalk? I'm so jealous! I wish I could do that here...especially in San Francisco. Parking in SF is a nightmare. Hope all is well, pookie!
Go Bot! Go kick some Geo-Engineering butt in Qatar! :) hehe, and way to go on the amazing goal! Wish I could have seen it...of course I still have only ever scored for the other team... :-/
Awesome photos! Thanks for sharing the photos, Pookie. I particularly like the view from the embassy. And thanks for sharing a bit about the driving. I found that to be very interesting. Sounds like you have to be a pretty aggressive driver, which is pretty different from driving in the States, for the most part. Be safe out there! Hope all is well!
Driving? Hello Pookie
It didn't occur to me that you have not driven yet. I'm sure it's much different than driving in gool ol' Ventucky. Your car is awesome and it seems to be a good fit for you (since you are a little person). It would be nice to hear more about driving and see some pictures of the roads and driving conditions. I hope this finds you safe, healthy and happy.
Cheers,
Romsa
That amazing place; this busy life. Hi Lexi,
I just have to say what an amazing set of pictures of the sights in Dubai you've posted here. I'm thinking it's the new New York City and better. Fresh is good.
I took my family in the new 4x4 up the Canadian river on friday night and then had a visit with the in-laws on Sunday. Mowed the lawn and visited with the locals today. Cleaned out and then donated our old refrigerator to the Salvation Army. The weather is crazy: hot, cold, warm, cold, hot. So much going on, and so many plans to do more. How do we keep up? Busy is good!
See how fun it is? Now you have to visit me Can! :)
Bryan - that is good advice and I'll probably start doing just that. FJ Cruisers are pretty cool, so I hope you have fun - will you be off roading?
Speaking of off-roading Hi Lexi,
It feels like I've made a tour of Italy without the attendant trouble and expense. A tip: write the text for your blogs in Notepad or Word using ascii basic formatting and then copy and paste said text into the travel blog text field; it'll save that blistering of the fingers when the travelblog site refuses to behave.
I am getting a very cool 4x4 this weekend (Toyota FJ Crusier in a desert sand color). It's been extremely difficult to find one that has a manual tranny, but finally cut an excellent deal on one today (2012 models just have to go, yo). so I'm looking forward to much reliable off-roading for the forseeable future.
In other news: OKC finally finished it's first credible skyscaper this year: the Devon Energy tower; something to make downtown seem a bit 21st century ;-) It's the only building from downtown that you can see from my house, and makes me think of Stephen King's Dark Tower series every time I look at it.
Keep on bloggin',

Thanks you guys! I'm glad you continue to read- I now have 80 blogs! WHOA!
Pumpkin, I plan to visit Ventura sometime between Jan and Mar - it depends on a few different things... I'll let you know more soon.
Great vacation! It was a fantastic time and much need free time! We did a LOT and a lot of walking, but it was all fun. Thanks for continuing to read... :)
Great photos! Hello Pookie
It would appear that you and Gwosh are having a great time. Thanks for the blog post and the awesome pictures. I've never been to that part of the world, so it is fun to live vacariously through you. Are you planning to visit Ventura in the fall, winter or next spring? If so, let me know so we can coordinate travel plans. It would be great to see you! I hope all is well, buttercup!
Cattle and sheepie? :) Thanks deeda. Oh, you mean herding us into the buses? Yeah, it was pretty weird. The return back I was ready for it at least. I wanted to relax on the terrace as I got to the hotel at least two hours before my friends, but after the rain it was a little chilly.
haha - thanks! yeah, i'm sure it was hilarious. In retrospect. At the time, I was not happy. Gwosh looked back every so often to make sure I was there. I figured as long as they got there and found the train, that's fine. But I made it while they were still looking.
I was an engineer on a long term assignment, first in Dubai and then in Qatar. During this time, I took advantage of my nice paycheck and proximity to other places to start seeing the world. After three years, I decided to take a much earned break and traveled for a year. After working about two years in New York State, I am on my way back to Dubai.... full info
