Every morning I trot down the hill to buy le pain/ & croissants for breakfast. Discovered chocolate with almond croissant. ( Kirsty eat your heart out!) I’ve made a friend of the lady at the Boulange [View Full Entry]

First lady of Paris!

Hi from Laurel here... As well as this entry, we're going to re-publish the first entry from Japan. We accidentally published it as a private blog, and it was so private that hardly anyone found it (congratulations to Lindsay, who was the first to find it- no prize, but lots of glory). And now from Carolyn... Hola everyone! We left you still exploring Sarlat, looking forward to Rocamadour, Perigeux , Bergerac of Cyrano fame, Monpazier, one of the 300 incredible Bastide towns set up by Edward III, and Font de Gaume. Laurel was able to return to our perfect little Hotel Chopin, in a superbly designed arcade that she had enjoyed on a previous visit. I was most amused by all the cafe chairs lined up behind wet plastic to view the Parisians scampering by under multicoloured umbrellas! Loved joining the throngs of people under the gorgeous dome of beautiful Galeries la Fayette for the sales....nearly [View Full Entry]

It's Laurel here- Carolyn is going to do the official introduction to our blog, but she doesn't want to KNOW about it until I figure out how it works. A wise woman! (Aha...I've just got it almost working....Carolyn is being frog-marched to the computer...) It's Carolyn now- "Konichiwa mina saro, Bonjour mes amis, bonjour!" This is a tribute to Laurel's persistence & wonderful to think you are all able to particpate!!! Thanks Lyn W. I have to keep pinching myself to make sure it's really me gadding about over divine little ancient mountain villages in Japan & now in provincial France [View Full Entry]
