Namaste ! Welcome in Nepal ! My name is Furwa Lama and I am a government-trained guide who operates independently. I have worked as a guide for companies, and now work on my own. I am a registered guide and up to date with the latest courses, offering a professional and friendly service. I have grown up in the mountains from a little village called Khamje in the Solu Khumbu region and am well versed in Nepal's mountains fauna and flora. Dangima Sherpa The cheetah of alpine sprints Dangima Sherpa is a quintessential marathoner. A casual look at him and you will know that this man has something to do with athletics. His lean figure has long replaced the muscular physique of a karate player and his 5'7†frame filled with 57 kgs is just about perfect for a long distance runner. Dangima has certainly made a name for himself in high altitude running, if not in long distance running as a whole. He has won the Tenzing Hillary Everest Marathon, the chase run at the highest altitude in the world, in 2004 and 2005 and has been the man to beat in mountain races for the last couple of years. My husband and me, we traveled to Nepal last autumn. We trusted an internet recommendation and chose Sherpa Paseng Dendi trekking company while still at home in Luxembourg. We were so pleasantly surprised upon arrival in Kathmandu as Dendi Pasang had succesfully organised everything starting from airport pickup, city tour, friendship dinner, hotel arrangement, plane tickets to Lukla etc. Our trekking guides for the 2 week trekking tour into Khumbu Everest region were Furwa Lama and Karma Gyalzen and we could not have wished better companions for that! Apart from ensuring smooth functioning (incl. carefully chosen lodges and menus) of the planned trekking, these guys really cared about our wellbeing (in all respects) during the trip.
