Hi! So last Friday ended up being a flop, unfortunately. We went to go to the Blarnee Stone, but there was a line that just wasn’t moving. Not a huge fan of waiting in queues really! We then thought we’d try the Cambie, but it was the same story. Vanessa and Mary-Anne went home and Erin & I went to Doolin’s. We paid $8 to get in, seriously, you have to pay to get in EVERYWHERE here.. Doolin’s is just an Irish pub, so there’s really no need for a cover charge, but they get away with it! I was in [View Full Entry]

Snowing!
Snowing!
I tried to get a photo of it snowing, but it didn't really work
Sorry guys, I've been slack. Don't worry though, I'm still here! I guess we all knew the one entry a day thing had to end soon. So this week i started my new job at Yellow Pages. It's been dull to say the least. The first day we got there and they hadn't set us up with passwords or anything. That took a while to organise, so we had countless coffee breaks that day. Good day! They still haven't got us all the programs we need, cos the licenses cost so much. We're doubling up on work and it's a bit [View Full Entry]

My house after the snow

So I moved into my house the day before yesterday. There was some mixup with the bedding situation, the guy moving out of my room took his bed with him into his new room, so i was left without a bed. Frick. My housemate is supposed to be buying me one, but for the last two nights I've had to sleep on a futon mattress about an inch thick, on the floor. Better off at the hostel! I haven't bought anything to "home up" my room just yet, cos I don't know if I want to stay here for too long. [View Full Entry]

I thought this was cute
At the moment I'm organising (or starting to organise at least) my travel plans for the next few months. So far I've got; Calgary (for the Stampede), Edmonton (for the big eff off mall) and Lake Louise (for the prettiness) in July for 10 days, then I'll fly to Montreal (French Candadia) for the Just For Laughs Festival. Then I'll either go to Vegas with the girls, or back home, depending on their plans. Then in August I'm going to New York for the US Tennis Open, and will make my way to Toronto too. Yaaaayyyy! Fun! I've got an interview [View Full Entry]

Mountains and lights
Mountains and lights
I never actually know what I'm looking at, cause I don't read the information, but as you can see there are mountains and lights in this picture. End lesson
Yesterday I woke up and saw the sun shining for the first time in a long time, and decided it was a good day for the observation deck! So i rounded up the troops (minus Erin, she wasn't feeling well and isn't a big fan of lifts) and off we went! They take you up in a glass elevator, woo! It's awesome! Moves a bit fast at the start, so your stomach ends up a little closer to your throat than usual, but it's fun. The tower itself isn't very tall, only 50 stories (even the Sofitel in Melb is that [View Full Entry]

WalMart!

Gosh, it's been a few days since I've updated.. Getting slack! The day before yesterday we all went out to dinner at Whitespot, which is like Sizzler. I had a prawn and scallop rissotto, was really really yummy. After renaming the restaurant G-Spot (Vanessa's) and Wetspot (Mine) and being obnoxiously loud, it was off to Yuk Yuk's for their comedy night. Erin and Vanessa had talked it up a fair bit, after they had been the week before. Long Island Iced Teas were cheap so i was happy, but the comedy wasn't really that great. The comedians bombed, one after the [View Full Entry]

I don't know the actual name of this carving.. Really should have listened! I do know that it's on the $20 bill though
So I’m sitting in my bed, annoyed that I’m awake at 7:30, after a night out. My sleeping mask keeps falling off and landing on the floor, so it’s of no use to me when the sun comes peeking through our open blinds. Ugh. Don’t think I’ll bother trying to go back to sleep. So last night was fun, we went to the Beaver (the bar at the bottom of the other hostel) where I had the world’s smallest chicken parmigiana. Parma connoisseurs around the world would have thrown their arms up in disgust, but it was alright. We had a [View Full Entry]

Mum commented on how long it's been since I posted a blog, so I thought I should get on it, before you all think I'm dead or something! Things have definitely gotten better since I've met the Aussie/New Zealand girls. I have people to do stuff with, people to talk to, it's awesome! Yesterday Mary-Anne (the New Zullander) and I went to get our SINs (TFN basically). It was easy enough to do, didn't take too long. Getting there though, was another story. We went up and down the elevators and stairs, through every hallway, until we eventually found it. You [View Full Entry]

So I braved the bar alone last night.. I felt like a doodle walking in alone, but straight away heard some Aussie accents next to me, so jumped on it. Turns out one of them was actually from New Zealand, oops! The Aussie's name is Erin, and the New Zullander is Maryanne. They're both staying in Vancouver for a while, so I might have actually made some friends! Omigod! Everyone else I've spoken to has been in and out of the hostel, so it's awesome that I've met people that I might actually be able to hang out with. The Canadian [View Full Entry]

They're sososo cute!
So it kept raining, but I decided to head to Stanley Park anyway. I went to the Aquarium. Best Aquarium ever, they have all the usual stuff, plus dolphins and Beluga whales! I thought the Aquarium would be a good option cos it would all be indoors.. Not so! Shit it was cold. Of course I was an idiot and wore thongs (I'd do it at home, but this was colder than I had expected!) I think this will be more of a picture blog than anything, I can't be bothered typing right now haha. In short; Stanley Park looks good, [View Full Entry]
