I finally have some pictures for you today. We wen´t to Quito´s old town in the morning, looked at some nice buildings, saw a demonstration (one guy looked like Amir Perez), and then went up to El Panecillo, which is a small hill that overlooks Quito. We had lunch there, and then went up a sky tram (rakevel) up to Mt. Pinchncho, which is at an elevation of 4100m. Today 3 other people joined me in my travels. * Efrat, who I met through LaMetayel in Israel, joined me this morning. * Dina, who Efrat met on the plane also joined us. * Sagiv, Who Efrat met through LaMetayel, joined us this evening. We did not do much today, just walked around the new town in Quito, and looked for Galapagos cruises. I am happy to say that we found one, and we will be in the Galapagos islands from the 28th for an 8 day cruise. Until then, we will travel in and around Quito, and for Friday and Saturday go to Otavalo, where there should be a huge market every Saturday. I arrived in Quito safe and sound, and even with all my luggage. I´m staying at Hostal Huauki, which is a very nice Japanese style hostel. The people here seem very nice so far. I´ll write more when I have something interesting to say. For now, I´ve been on the road for about 24 hours, so good night. Erez.... read more

Hi All, I am at the Madrid airport, waiting for my connection to Quito. Nothing much to tell, except that on the flight here, some french girl tried talking French to me. Why would someone on a flight from Israel to Spain speak French? I will write again from Quito. Erez.... read more

Well, I'm finished with all the packing. I leave tonight around 2:00 for the airport, for a 5 hour flight to Madrid, and then an 11 hour flight to Quito. My next entry should be from Quito, Ecuador. ... read more
