I was trying to stalk you on MSN but I guess you weren't there. Wow. I feel like you've been gone FOREVER!!! It's so weird. 6 months away from your homeland. It's going to feel different when you get back at first, but slowly you'll adjust to life you left behind. Hehe. I will be thinking you of you at 2:30 EST as your plane touches down in Toronto. I'll be on vacation with my friend Morgan at their lake house in Lake Tomahawk, Wisconsin (about 5 hr drive from here) till July 5th. I'm so exicted! My only vacation this summer. Anyway, have a good flight, drug up on the plane so hopefully you can sleep (I've travelled sick before and it's NO FUN) and smuggle that illegal 3rd bottle of wine. Hehe. Later!
It's about time I wrote a comment...I've been enjoying your blog since you left. We went to Greece on our honeymoon and it sounds like it's still as beautiful as ever. Enjoy your last week and I'm looking forward to seeing you and hearing your stories when you return.
The islands sounds amazing! :) It's a good thing to be able to relax on a beach after such a crazy couple of months being in a foreign place. This experience is something you will take with you forever! Have fun.
I loved the Amalfi coast! We stayed in Sorrento for three days and did a day trip along the coast to Positano, Amalfi and Ravello - it reminded me of Nice, but in Italy. haha.
Glad to hear your travels are still going pretty well. I must get ready for work now. (read: I am jealous that you are still in Europe).
Love, Nives
Picasso's Guernica & Pizza I had to look up the painting as I totally forgot what it looked like....strange! but then that's Picasso.
Yummy pizza! Ahhh, such memories......Can you eat a piece for me?
Monkey Love Sorry I can't be there to give you some moral support and help with those bags! Sounds like you have some big bags. Also sounds like there is confusion with the French as usual. For your hotplate, try flipping the 'plaque' switch in the hallway cupboard. I had to do that a few times this semester. I am taking advantage of my home environment, listening to new music (James Blunt!) and eating homemade apple pie. I have confidence in you and your skills at surviving on your own. You will probably get lost a few times, we do anyways, and you will have a fantastic time! Love you and miss you! Stefan and I are kindred spirits btw...your favorite monkey, Alison
You have yourself a fun time sub-trekking around Europe. Stay safe, have fun, and check in from time to time if you can.
If you can't, have a great time and a safe trip back to this side of the planet :)
Words Vs Pictures Poetry, and Picture, are Arts of a like nature; and both are busie about imitation. It was excellently said of Plutarch, Poetry was a speaking Picture, and Picture a mute Poesie. For they both invent, faine, and devise many things, and accommodate all they invent to the use, and service of nature. Yet of the two, the Pen is more noble, than the Pencill. For that can speake to the Understanding; the other, but to the Sense.
[Ben Jonson (1573-1637), British playwright, poet. Timber, or Discoveries (1640).]
We enjoy the pictures, but vote for your words; take much delight in your exceptional decriptions of people, places and experiences!
Hooray! The water is back! Oh Ango, why are you sketchy? It is pretty amazing (/frightening) the things we get used to. The fact that the water was out for a few hours in no way surprised any of us...
At least the construction guys weren't on strike!
The two MUST sees in Amsterdam are the Van Gogh museum (get the audio tape - it is amazing!!!) and the Heineken Experience - even better than the Guiness museum. I would skip Anne Frank house if you are on a budget as it was way overpriced and not that great.
For the first half of 2006, I studied abroad in Northern France. During the school term (five months), I travelled throughout France and to Ireland, Scotland, England, Germany, Belgium and Spain. I then backpacked through more of Spain, Italy on my own for almost three weeks before meeting up with a Contiki group to visit the Greek Islands of Mykonos, Santorini and Ios. Needless to say, this experience has changed my life and started a travel bug that keeps biting every few months! Stay tuned for further trips when I get around to posting pictures of my travels since Europe.... full info
