Hang in there John, I enjoyed reading this entry. You are doing such great work. Sounds rough sometimes, but it also sounds like you are accomplishing alot. Also, the travelling sounds really cool! I am so proud of you and love you lots!
hey hey brother--skimmed it /c there's a line for the comp but big big love from bucharesti :) miss and love you! praying for your friend. love you so much and can't wait to share our experiences!!
i assume you are making the lima-cusco-machu picchu trip, no? well i would fully recommend stopping through this area of the country. i think if you only go to lima or cusco, you will only find the peru that everyone can see in pictures. this part of peru is full of tradition and a whole different depth of culture. i think it would add a new and deeper dimension to your trip. come to ayacucho.
Huancayo Ayacucho Ambato Just read your story, that's a classic.
Anyhows, how do you like the area.
I am thinking of taking Lima - Cuzco via
Huancayo - Ayacucho - Ambato - Cuzco.
Do you have any comments or suggestions.
How do you like the area? the people? scenery?
Tim
family I am so thrilled that you have had this opportunity because visiting as a tourist would never compare to what you are experiencing. The family is all doing fine and I love your blog.
ahahahaha... i always knew you were secretly a demon :) that aside, the trip sounds so fascinating. keep having great and interesting experiences, and be sure not to offend anyone that gives you the evil eye...
WOW Thanks for the great narrative! I could understand your weekend so much better in writing than I did with all the background noise on the phone. It sounds amazing and so do you! We love you and miss you.
Unique experience! John,
What can I say? Awesome experience that will change the way you see the world! Specially, when you see how people live with the basics and/or less off but they are happy and grateful, it is overwhelming. It will amaze you how much local people appreciate and value what you are doing for them! :)
Wish you the best! Carmen

Johnnn! Ahh! It sounds so amazing! I'm so glad you're having such a great experience. I'm pretty jealous- despite the harsh conditions you've described. It sounds incredible! Missing you!
Bull Fight??? That is quite an event for your first day in Peru! Keep us posted. We miss you. Aunt Cindy asks to be added to your auto-post for the blog. I will send you her address by email.
221bs Hey John. Just letting you know I'm praying for you as you are finishing packing and take off tomorrow. I'm curious to see how you pack to bring back 22lbs! Godspeed,
Michaela
John, I'm so excited for you! My family really wants me to get a blog, too, so I might follow in your footsteps :-)
I heard that Machu Picchu only allows a small amount of visitors every day and that it fills up quickly. Do you know anything about booking? I think I'll have to go toward the end of my trip... like toward the beginning of July maybe.
Anyway, I'll be thinking of you as I travel on Friday night and Saturday. I think we'll just miss each other in Lima.
Safe travels,
Jenna
Hey, I'm John. I created this blog to share with y'all my experiences in Ayacucho, Peru this summer. I'm interning in a health clinic there, and I'm sure I'll have plenty to talk about. I hope you enjoy the blog.... full info
