Finally back in Bangkok. What a flight! After I unwrinkled myself I took my taxi to the We-Train International House for my 3-day stay. The We-Train is an inexpensive, safe and clean place to stay when you arrive after a long flight. It's not your typical accomodation. I wasn't sure I wanted to take the time to go to this remote island two hours off the coast of Phuket by boat. I knew it was the island that the movie 'The Beach' was filmed, but had reservations as I knew I would have time later when I returned to Thailand in November. I glad I took the ferry. Today I sit here at my laptop in beautiful Palo Alto, California. Just blocks away is Stanford University and criss-crossing in front of me are the visions of wealth and pretentiousness. In a few weeks I'll be boarding yet another airliner to hover across this vast globe to a little known area of Thailand named Khao Lak (ka-oh lack).
