An example of the different things you wil see in Bangkok, this guy is just crusin down the road petting a chipmunk that was tied to his bike. Pet or Snack?
So stuck in the Athens airport and unable to board our plane to Vietnam due to a visa problem we had to think fast. So we checked the internet and made the very quick decision to go to Thailand, where we would find a Vietnamiese embassy in downtown Bangkok so we boarded a plane and off we went. With a surprise stop over in the United Arab Emirates city of Bahrain, I cant wait to look around. We are surprised at just how unbelievably hot it is outside at nine at night with no sun in the sky, I thought it [View Full Entry]

An amazing Greek resturant fully equipped with exotic belly dancing ladies and plate smashing, not to mention the big harry greek men!
Well about 70 days in and still no beach, so we decided now is the time. We boarded a plane to Athens on our way to the Ionian island of Corfu to relax and hopefully not sunburn. Athens has lots to see but is overpriced and not the cleanest city so we only stayed the night. We were off to the island which supposedly was created by posiedon coming out of the water and cutting it away from the mainland with his trident. We arrive early at The Pink Palace, a resort for backpackers, offering cheap accomodation with free meals.(and as the [View Full Entry]

The view from our plane as we entered Toronto on the way to London
Well we landed in London with no real plan; we just wanted to get to Amsterdam. We were exhausted from about a day of travel, so we decided to stay a night in London and explore the city the following day. We traveled this costly city, took in such sites as the London Bridge. We then booked a train, ferry, train trip that arrives in Amsterdam. We boarded this beautiful ferry where we spent the night and 8 hours later landed at the Hook of Holland. There we boarded a train that took us to the center of Amsterdam. From our [View Full Entry]

We climbed to the peak of the mountain overlooking Machupicchu ruins... not bad eh dad!
Well we packed up and hesitantly left Iguazu Falls. We have set off on a spiritual conquest to Peru in the Cusco region where we hope to learn of peace within and our connection with nature. We land in Cusco, the final city of the Incas and make our way on a 6 day journey through the Sacred Valley (Ollyantambo) and finally reaching the great ruins of Aguas Calientes.Machu Picchu is probably the most familiar symbol of the Inca Empire. It was built around the year 1450, but abandoned a hundred years later, at the time of the Spanish conquest of [View Full Entry]

All i can say is wow. We left for Iguazu Falls on May 2. It is only an hour and a half flight from B.A. I had high expectations of one of natures most amazing destinations, but i was blown away. The waterfall system consists of 275 falls along 2.7 kilometres of the Iguazu River all accesible by metal walking paths or small trains. You can get up to just mere inches away from the water. Some of the individual falls are up to 82 metres in height, though the majority are about 64 metres. The Garganta del Diablo (Devil's Throat in [View Full Entry]

Sorry for no action in a while so we have incuded the rest of our stay in Buenos Aires in this blog. We are sad to leave Buenos Aires but the journey must continue. We have come to love this extraordinarly diverse city and country for that matter. The great food and culture, this city is defined by the peoples love for it. They are incredibly passionate as a culture as well as some of the most hardworking and friendly people i have ever seen. Well from the 1000 photos Jolene has taken , here are some that highlight our trip. [View Full Entry]

Well I should have known their was no such thing as white salmon! After returning home from a wonderful tango show and dinner. I was met with stomach pains and a bad case of food poisoning. I won't get into details of the last two days but aside from jo running around the city trying to say immodium in spanish, i will summarize and just say it was not fun. We vistited the famous Recoleta Cemetary, it is one of the worlds most beautiful cemetaries . The tombs are all made of granite or marble, they house famous families, a whos [View Full Entry]

Hola amigos, como son usted? After a long day (22 hrs) of travel, one incredibly shaky landing in a very windy Toronto and a surprise layover in Santiago chile, we have arrived in beautiful Buenos Aires. After sleeping most of the next day , we eventually woke up to tour some of the neighbourhood of palermo (where we are staying) and ate some traditional fare. At a local cafe we ate a pizza and empanadas (something similiar to a pizza pop) and drank a few beers. The bill coming to 60 pesos, about 18 dollars us. We also managed to take [View Full Entry]
