Nov 16th Wow, what an interesting couple of days. Out first full day in Arusha was awesome, we slept in a bit but everyone in the house is used to being up and out the door at the crack of dawn so it was too loud to stay in bed too long. Nov. 13th I have seriously been neglecting my journal and I have no good excuse. I can honestly say we did very close to nothing at all in Belgrade. There were a few days were it poured all day and we didn’t even leave the apartment. I think it was good for us to relax for a bit thought and just have a few weeks to really feel comfortable and rested. Before Belgrade thought we were in Paris and Dublin. Paris was great. Oct. 31st This city is interesting. Being that is was the capital city of Yugoslavia it’s nice and big and has a very welcoming vibe to it. However it is very clearly not a wealthy city. Cars are very old and public transit is so vital that buses are literally over flowing with people. Yesterday Adam and I caught a bus to the new Belgrade neighborhood and it was chest to chest, people standing on the stairs and pressed up against the doors. Oct 11th - 19th Barcelona!!!! Finally back to warm weather! Our first day in Barcelona was actually an epic travel day. Even thought it started at the crack of dawn in London we didn’t make it to our hostel until about 8pm. Adam and I were so tired we literally went straight into the shower then into bed. But day two we dove right in and started exploring the city. Our hostel was called the Melon District and was really nice but a little outside the downtown core. Oct 8th- Oct 11th We arrived late on the 8th. Just enough time to make it to Adam’s friend Alex’s place in Twickenham, go for a late night meal and go to bed. First thing in the morning though we were out the door exploring. October in London is not unlike Vancouver as far as weather goes, so I looked and felt pretty stupid walking around in my Birks. Sept 29th- Oct 8th So we stayed in Croatia with Nadia and Daniel for the rest of the week. For the most part we didn’t do much, which was actually kin of nice. The weather had definitely turned so there weren’t anymore beach days, but we found a spa with a pool and a gym that we spend some time at. Sept 29th Ok…so I’ve missed a few days of writing..haha. On the 18th of September we went on a boat cruise with the whole family. It was fun/interesting. We got on the boat at 9am and the first thing they did was pass around a bottle of sljvovice which is like Croatian moonshine. They entire trip there was a red faced drunk man playing the piano accordion and by mid afternoon all the Russian tourist on the boat were half naked, drunk and dancing around him. Sept 16th Today we piled into the van and Daniel took us on a big long tour. We saw the bridge to Krk, the harbor where they hid the war ships, Riekja and the big clock in the center and made it home just in time for some of Nadija’s minestrone for dinner. It was amazing! Sept 14th We said goodbye to Italz this morning. Caught the train to Trieste and got picked up by Ada's cousin Daniel. Ada and Roman decided to rent a big van for us all to travel in so that is what Daniel was driving. In under two hours we went from Trieste Italy, through Slovenia and into Croatia. I'm not 100% clear what the name of the place we are staying in is because there seems to be about 5 or more towns all connected. Sept 13th Today was soccer day! In Milan tickets for games are sold at banks or at the stadium 2 hours before the game. So Adam got up early and gave himself more then enough time to get down there, grab 3 tickets, head back, meet up with myself and Margarita, then get to the game on time. After he left the hotel I slowly got ready and headed out to do some exploring on my own. Our plan was to meet infront of the Duomo at 2 o'clock.
