Great stories to tell Hi guys! We can't wait to hear more stories in person. Life in Palm Springs is certainly an alternate reality from what you have witnessed in Guatemala. We spent two days in San Diego which was very fun and drove back to Palm Desert through the mountainous San Bernadino national forest which reminded me of the Cabot Trail (narrow, steep, incredibly beautiful and with many scary cliffs). It was stunning and extremely memorable - a real highlight.
Ivan's crawling now and laughing up a storm. He can't wait to show you all of his tricks ... there are many:)
Take care of your back, Joni. We'll see you next week. xoxoxo
Hi There, we enjoyed reading your article about "the pot". I hope you're feeling better and enjoying your time at Lago Atitlan. Hopefully you've been able to connect with your friends. We're taking a shuttle back to Xela tomorrow, making a stop in Solola to pick up some things at the Productos de Soya.
Keep well both of you,
XOX Rita

Helloooo There Hi Joni and Jackie,
I'm working the O/N (hmm probably should not do this during work hours but could not resist) and all chores done, everyone in bed. So very briefly. I've just caught up on your Blogs! What an adventure, excellent work you are doing, very scary car rides (I chuckled albeit with a combination of horror and absurdity) and the food (well sounds like you are coping!) I miss you here. My news:
travelling to Germany with my partner (he has work there) trade show (big one Euroshop in Dusseldorf) so I get to work (set up, clean, tear down) then 3-4 days of sighting seeing at end of show. Leave Feb 22. Been researching a little; the architecture/buildings will be awesome (ie., 100 AD!!!) Must go .. starting to feel really guilty. Could we say this is work related :) Do take care .. Great Blog Hi Jackie and Joni
I am enjoying reading about the daily activities and highlights of your trip. It sounds amazing but I know I would never have the strength to do what you are doing. I congratulate you on your achievements there. I forget when you will be back but we leave for Florida on Feb. 26 and will be back around April 3.
Love, Sandi
It's all fascinating and wonderful - especially from where I sit :)and I look forward to the many photos I hope you're taking. Yesterday, Jackie described the welcome reception, which must have been so great. (Do you remember that Bobby and I, about 10 years ago, delivered a bus to a village on the West Bank? An amazing experience and we were similarly feted - by the toddlers and the elders of the village.) Moving, memorable - I can almost picture you.
...love...Ellen
Thank you for the visions Hi Joni and Jackie, I have to say that I am throughly enjoying your blog. It gives me great delight to find an email and be able to read about the goings on in Guatemala. I so long to be there with everyone and seeing the life that takes place so far away. Panamquim and the school are definitely a highlight of the trip. I hope you are enjoying the families where you are building the stoves, the people of Guatemala can be very wonderful. Keep enjoying your time there and I look forward to hearing more and seeing pictures when you return.
Good to hear of your adventures... Hi Joni, Hi Jackie,
I've been following your adventures! Sounds fascinating!
Now for the more mundane... :) We've been getting small amounts of snow and when it clears that brilliant, blinding sunshine that Canadians associate with cold days in January. It hasn't been cold. Windy, yes. Makes me think about March. We are supposed to get 10cm of snow tonight, but time will tell.
Continue to enjoy!
Thanks for including us in your adventures!
Kathryn

I am happy to hear about you incredible journey to the far away land ,seems like a very important project but with many things to do especially to handle the frustration of lack of money to take care of the needs.
