Geo: 55.9503, -3.18761A 1 hour flight to Edinburgh on twin propeller plane. An ex hurricane from America is threatening to hit the south east UK sometime today but as we land it looks as thought it may just of headed north instead and come straight here.It is bucketing down.We catch the airlink bus easily enough for £7 return each and the first Scottish word we overhear is quite naturally the one that rhymes with duck, truck, cluck, muck but most definitely begins with a well pronounced 'F'Not sure how much we'll see today as it's now 4pm though we have sensibly brought our brollies and pack-a-macs for the great weather set before us.... read more

Geo: 52.6281, 1.29935A day just chilling in Horsford and a spot of cheap and cheerful lunch at The Oaks. The washing is all done and nicely drying in the sun ready for our next stint. We leave tomorrow for Edinburgh for 2 nights then 'old London Town for 8. Plenty of people to catch up with and we are so looking forward to it. We plan to have a day up the East End, go and view the Shard plus lots more in the greatest city in the world. (Oh ok, that's always debatable but certainly one of the greatest)... read more

Geo: 54.2464, -0.782141Well that's it for Yorkshire. We plan to return one day to Stony Moor and do and see much more and walk the moors as they should be explored. Just stunning. We could quite happily have walked for hours taking in the scenery and the nature. Beautiful, just Love it.Speaking of nature, I'm Now Listening to a Great Tit (such a rude and ungrateful arsehole) who has really put the mockers on this short stay at Stony Moor and look forward to him leaving in the opposite direction to us before we prepare for our trip back to Norfolk and then onward Edinburgh. (Yes we realise Edinburgh is North and we should have planned better)Bye bye Michael McNasty! It amazes me at times that whilst travelling extensively you can meet so many wonderful and exciting ... read more

Geo: 53.9577, -1.08229A slight annoyance has now resulted in Chris and I going to York for the day whilst Ken, Theresa and Michael visit Scarborough.York Minster is as beautiful as I remember it many years ago. A great city with so much history. we wandered the old cobbled streets of Little Shambles and gazed up at the crooked tudor buildings lining the streets. We roamed the grounds of the towering York Minster and walked the old city wall.Refreshments called on us again before we catch the train back later and meet up with the others.... read more

Geo: 54.2464, -0.782141August 1stIt's 11am as we leave Norwich for Pickering in Yorkshire. A quick food and refreshments stop at Sainsburys & then we are on our merry way.The traffic was not too bad on this 6 hour drive which included 2 short breaks and an incident with a large pothole somewhere in Derbyshire. Thankfully no damage done.Arrive in Pickering after a slight traffic snarl due to the fact that there was a steam and tractor fair this weekend. How exciting that must have been. Now to find Stony Moor cottage. Not too difficult really and only missed the turn off by a tiny bit. At least it was still light. After a short and narrow gravel off road driveway we picked up the keys to this quaint building set in an Idyllic setting with pine ... read more
