Birthday Treat sounded great - lucky girl, hope you still have some money left! Enjoyed your report as always and I thought the 'photo of you and your cake was lovely.I hear you had a chat to Jessica - what a week it has been. I aquired a parking fine on top of everything else. I was cross! Hope we talk soon - enjoy Peru! LOL GM xxxxx
Can't think of one! I was completely exhausted after reading this latest blog! Glad you seem OK and hope the injection course is nearly over for you. You seem to be having a very quiet time and I think you should fill your days with more sight seeing - ha,ha.....Your birthday Hilton visit must have been quite something.
Wimbledon is nearly over now - it has been great. The roof was closed one evening when Murray played. Quite an experience. Mens' semis today and finals on Sunday. We think this will be Federer v Murray but who knows. Very hot weather - cooler today. Beaminster Festivalis on until Sunday. I went to a really brilliant piano recital last night. The Beethoven Patheique was awsome - packed church. John Lill was the star -superb, very well known pianoist.
Take care - LOTS of love GM.xxxxxx 'Ello 'ello to Fabrice - hope he is coping with you all right!! Is Helen joining you?
WoW! WoW! Emma, it all looks so amazing.. although, not sure I would have liked the ping pong show... Do keep writing lots, as we love to hear from you, and you can read it in later years and look back...
Love to Helen,
Jealous, from Southampton. :) x x x
hey thanks for your message! I would say don't book it from Delhi because there are so many rip-off merchants. There is really no need and alot better and cheaper just to book it at one of the agencies in Leh. We went with an agency called Virgo and our homestay trek was fantastic! We didn't book the trek from Delhi but just organised it once we were there. Hope this helps and enjoy your trip :)
Cor Hi Emma, so glad you're having a good time it sounds amazing I'm so jealous - wish I was still there! Did you go to the sailing club in Nha Trang? Muchos dancing fun to be had there! Enjoy Halong and Hanoi where next after BKK? Soph (from my vair vair boring desk job in London!) xxx
response Hi
Sorry for the late response- the weather was hot in Leh. But not too hot like Delhi. If she is flying in, she will need to acclimatise due to Altitude sickness so she should take it easy for at least 36 hours. We felt knackered for the first 2 days because of how high it is...and we drove in. I've just realised this is a late response as you said she was arriving tomorrow but i hope she's having a good time!
Thanks,
Emma
reply Hi thanks for your comment- the road condition is bumpy at times and scary in parts but definately do-able. We went by mini-bus and had a relatively good driver. I hope that helps- you should be fine. Just check in Leh of the conditions when you are there.
Thanks,
Emma

Leh Manali road condition Hi emma, read your post nd it gave me lot of information which i need before heading for ladakh in the 2nd week of july. But Emma if u know, please tell me wat was the road condition between leh nd manali, i heard there was recent landslide nd road was closed. Hope u must b enjoying in Macleodganj.
The Weather? Hi, I really enjoyed reading your entry on Leh. My 17 year old daughter will be arriving there tomorrow and I was trying to find out what the weather is like. It seems according to the India Weather Website and Yahoo that it doesn't exist. Also after seeing the mountain roads I am reassured by the fact that she is flying there from Delhi; hopefully the runway isn't at the edge of a cliff. Thanks again for you narrative.
Ladakh Hi,
Really liked your Lewis Hamilton comment...almost fell down laughing....yes the Himalayan roads can be tough....you need a special permit to drive on those roads......
All is well that ends well........
Hope you had a lovely trip
Please feel free to write back to me
