Went to the Flying Saucer today and could not believe the multitude of beer choices from all over the world. Over 200 beers and the staff new every one of them. I told them what I usually drank and they set me and my buddies up with some awesome brews. The staff was friendly, the place had character and the beer was cold. I highly recommend going to this establishment if you like beer. Oh, and the prices were very reasonable. Great place. Some like it hot, and at Prince's Hot Chicken Shack (123 Ewing Dr., Nashville, TN, 37207, 615.226.9442) it's "beads-of-sweat-forming-on-the-brows-of-grown-men" hot. Inside, booths seat about 20 people and straw fans adorn the walls. There are four heat levels: mild is for those who like "spicy" food; for the neophyte, medium induces sweating; hot is a quasi-religious experience and extra-hot is fine if you have no plans for the next 12 hours. Sides of beans, slaw and potato salad are tasty heat extinguishers. Prince's Hot Chicken Shack 123 Ewing Dr., Nashville, TN, 37207 615.226.9442 [View Full Entry]

Day one in Nashville. Hog Heaven @ 115 27th Ave, Nashville, TN, behind the McDonalds on West End Ave, was the place to go for lunch. This is a little shack like building which shares space with a local sticky and smokey beer joint called Springwater Supper Club. I had the Rib plate with the 2 sides consisting of black eyed peas and coleslaw. I added a 2oz portion of pulled chicken as well to make it quazi combo plate. The bbq sauce is good, it has a little spice to it. yo also get a cornbread flatcake and sliced pickles [View Full Entry]

This was definitely the high point of my trip to China. I along with 14 other people took a tour bus arranged by one of our bosses. We went to the touristy part but that was ok, at least we got there. When we got there we walked up to what looks like a little street lined with vendors, it was funny people were grabbing us trying to sell us stuff. There are two ways to get up to the wall from the parking area, either in a gondola or on a chairlift. It really reminded me of a ski resort, [View Full Entry]

We got done at The Forbidden City and went across the street to Tian’anmen Square. Everything was very nice, lots of flowers, people, and some new Olympic monuments. We had wanted to see Chairman Mao but viewing hours are 8 am to 12 noon, we missed it. [View Full Entry]

So, after getting our cameras we went back into the tubes and headed to the Forbidden City, it was a Saturday and we saw how crowded China can be. We only got to see the main court yard because the line to get into the back area was at least an hour wait and unfortunately we were trying to go to Tian'anmen Square as well. Brian said it was probably just bunch of boring gardens and temples. [View Full Entry]

Outside the Gates of The Forbidden City 2
Me in front of The Forbidden City

Our first trip into the city of Beijing Ok...so we decided we needed to go buy cameras and do some sight seeing. We felt really adventurous so we decided to take the subway. The first line, line 10, was new, clean, and really modern. This took us down to the electronics mart. It was a pretty big store that housed too many vendors to count. And this was where the fun begins. We were told never pay full price so we were ready to barter. I felt that since almost everything is made in china we could get pretty good deals.
