Glad you enjoyed Sydney and Wake Up!
Hi Helen, Sounds like you packed as much into your time in Sydney as possible. I am glad you stayed at Wake Up! and took advantage of the activities running around the hostel. You noticed our ex-neighbours quiz master I see, we actually only hire ex-celebrities - we have Bobbi from home and away in the cafe and we have reserved a spot for Alf Stewart on reception ;-P I hope the rest of your trip is fantastic! Cheers, John @ Wake Up!

Hostel room
I think you've done the room a disservice. The table was nice.

It all sounds great fun and almost civilised! Hope your toe gets better soon; you wouldn't want a big toe problem to be your main legacy from your trip, would you? I spent the weekend getting M's house ready for me moving in - goodness only knows where it will all go. I expect you could end up 'winning' a lot more than I'd envisaged. Lots of love Moot xxx

My diary writing got as far as 15 days during my 15th year of life and most of that consited of what we had for school lunch. Always loved my food. Hope your toe is better. Love Nicky xxx

Hi Helen- Shame we couldn't read your first missive, but enjoyed what you have put - especially the pictures. Spooky how like Nanny you look in pic 10. Must the close proximity to an animal that did it! See you soon. Love Moot xx

\Ithink I would like to have brrn in Darwen - sounds good and more my cup of tea, back in civilisation so to speak. Dad said it was lovely to see your face on the camera the other day as he is missing you. Do I take it from what I have read from Mum that you have not been very well again - Australia will do you ggood. No I think like Mum scrabble or something like that would be better - cannot think of many two people cards games myself. You could always play noughts and crosses or even boxes. Love you both lots, looking forward to the 28th June which is when I go to Dads. Love Grandma xxxx

Very funny account of your entry into Australia. Sounds like Dan has the ex-naval officer's number. The best 2-person card game I know is Crib, but you really need someone to show you how and a crib board of course. I'd try to find a scrabble or chess set - they are good two player games. Good to speak to you on Skype earlier too - hope you feel better soon. You certainly sound perkier in your blog than you did on the video call.:-) All the best Moot xx

Jut reading your latest blog- great I have missed them. I replied earlier about you saying I was awesome but I uderstand these days that is a compliment - the way I describe awsome is someone you are a little afraid of and over powering therefore I apologise - modern day language you see I do not always underrstand. I see on the news tonight there is more trouble in Bangkok and some other parts of the cfountry so glad you are away from there. What do you think about this coalition government - different is i not. Just been to Church as it is Ascension Day. Carol has been with me this week and we have really had a good time -like aholiday, havbe been out every day and all over the place and eaten every mealout - I havd really enjoyed myself. Lot of love to you and to Dan - hop his leg is OK now. Your lovingly grandma xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx

The importance of a good ham sandwich!
This trip is really having its effect on you - now safety records pale into insignificance next to the importance of a good ham sandwich! Be good, kids. Moot Moot! xxx

You're right Helen, it does sound dramatic! But I'm glad you're still in enjoying yourselves and hope Dan's leg is OK. Amazing that you can be on the other side of the world in a very different culture and still find Friends, Family Guy and pain au chocolats! Not sure some of the activities you're both enjoying would appeal to me much, but then I never quite got the attraction of festivals either. Easter here has been a lot of fun. Sara's been here since last Saturday and so has Merlin and the kids. But the Beedells go back today, Sarah leaves on Sunday and I return to work on Monday. We had Grandad with us for Easter Sunday lunch, which was nice and Jo, Doug and Anna came round in the evening bearing Easter Eggs. Anna is now very round - the baby is due in two and a half weeks. Will let you know when he arrives. She's very well, if a little tired, and has now finished work. so she is a lady of leisure for a while. Love to you both - Moot. xxx
