The Hebridean Way

I’m flying to Scotland to hike the Hebridean Way in the Outer Hebrides - 251 km from Vatersay to Lews Castle, but contemplating adding another 45km to get to the very top of Lewis (if I don’t perish in a bog ). It’s 9 islands- 6 walking causeway crossings and 2 ferries. I’m giving myself 17 days including flights from and to Glasgow. Flight from Glasgow lands on a beach runway.
I’m also spending nearly 2 weeks in the Shetland Islands after a quick visit with my sister and family in Edinburgh. Shetland has been on the radar for a while but the plan has evolved and now includes Foula, a tiny island about 35km west of Shetland- in between Scotland and Norway. I find myself very excited about those 3 days the most - the most remote island of all.
