This time last year I don't know if you will get to read this girls but I have been thinking about what you put us parents through last year with the worry of you all going travelling.
It's great that you done all those amazing things and saw all of what you did and I am really pleased that you did all of it but i am even more pleased knowing that you have all been there and done that so you are all now at home safe and sound.
I have just looked through all the blogs (mainly the photo's) to remind me of what was happening now this time last year Everything looks great and it's hard to believe you were all seeing and doing all those things.Well done girls and thankyou for giving all of us the chance to join you on your travels. Lots of Love Mum Casey xxx
Shocking end It doesn't seem long ago all the horrors of Cambodia were being reported nightly on our TV screens but being so far away we didn't perhaps pay enough attention and it still right now it continues in other places. Makes you realise how lucky we are living in a safe country. Really great to see you all taking an interest in the people and visiting the orphanage.
Well as I write I think you must be flying home and we cant wait to you all tomorrow at the airport.
Thanks for all the brilliant blogs - a super effort to keep us all informed of your exploits and the pictures meant we were almost with you and didn't feel to far away even though you were the other side of the globe.
See you all soon.
Wat A Lesson I take my hat of to you girls as I feel as if i have just done a very interesting lesson at school but I have actually paid attention. All the information was very interesting but very sad and with you actually being there I would think that you got more of a feel of what went on.The palace and grounds looked wonderful as did the unusual tree stem. The children at the orphanage looked happy little things ,easily pleased I would think especially when they can get people (Fi) running all over the place. Not very easy to walk away from I would'nt think.(We wont find any children in the ruksack will we!!!).If you do decide to go back I hope the three of you don't do it too soon.Anyway I am glad that you are all still looking cool with the shades and being driven around in the cart thing (sorry forgot name) even though it might be a bit hairy.still is it not better tham Jem's driving!!!.Can't wait to see the suits and dresses we will have to have a fashion show.Lucky with the nightclubs in that nothing happened to any of you by the sounds of it.Okay girls I will finish here as I am going to have a another look at the photo's. You have now got just a few hours to go before you get on the plane to come home so don't do anything stupid and make sure you catch it.It is sad your trip has come to an end but for us it will be great to see you all and I am in no doubt that you will all relive everything when you show us the dvd's and photo's etc and we can then live it with you without having to carry a rucsack. See you in the morning. Lots of Love mum and dad casey xxx
Wat a load of wat! Hi girls! Ah, your last travel blog :-( Seems your time has flown by in hindsight... I'm so looking forward to seeing the 3 Musketeers come through the doors at Heathrow! Not looking forward to an earlier start than normal but it'll be worth it to see your faces :-)
Cambodia sounded like the perfect end to your time away - volunteering is definitely v rewarding (I speak from experience).
Anyhoo, less than 24 hours to go! Til tomorrow. Loads of love and hugs to come, Jo xx
Cordon bleu chefs!! My god ladeez - Thai cooking - very impressive! I'd be up for sampling your cuisine! Fab pics, elephants look beautiful - how did you get up there? They're massive! Make the most of your last few days - I can't believe its coming to an end and I'm not the one whose on holiday - it seems to have zoomed by! Will be good to see you guys when u get back. Take care - stay safe, love Cums xxxxxxxx
Bring me back the puppy Just had another sneaky peak at the cute puppy - had a brainwave and thought he could be my present :-)
Well I tried...see you in a week!!!! YEAH YEAH YEAH (as in the Phones4U ad), Spanna xx
Coming home! Hey girls, So now the end is near :-( shame that your fun, dossing and living it up is in its final week. I for one am looking forward to seeing you come through the doors at Heathrow - not looking forward to the early wake up but I'll be there Jem! Glad you plucked up the courage to scuba dive - I must try it again sometime and hopefully do a proper dive next time... Hope you've bought me something nice (rather than tacky!) as a belated b'day gift :-) See you bright and early next Tues.
Loads of love and hugs, Jo xx
thai tales Dont know if it was intentional but i thought the black and white pics were great - just shows how time stands still in some places. The images could just have easily been taken a century ago whilst on a safari.
Good to see you are honing up on work experiences now you are getting near to coming home - I am sure there are plenty of restaraunts looking for authentic Thai cooks.
All those hours at the swimming lessons when you were small are paying off now - bet you never thought back then that one day you would be scuba diving in the coral seas.
True or False Looking at the photo's of you all I am thinking to myself is it possible that you have all changed into green food eaters and wannabe cooks or is it a false front you are putting on I think maybe the last thought might be right.Whatever it is you all look relaxed and enjoying the local things. The food market looks good. jem looks right at home there she will be ok in the french ones when she visits her mum and dad.Fiona and Gina you both look really into your cooking lesson are the scarves for hygiene or is it a new fashion of yours? I bet the orchid farm was pretty as the photo of you all looks good.Your accom. at Koh Tao looks smashing not just the room but the location as well. I am glad you enjoyed the elephant safari they are nice animals especially baby nelly. (No accidents then Jem).Yet again you have done things that are different and exciting and i felt quite relaxed reading this blog maybe it's the photo's as well cos you all look relaxed and happy.carry on enjoying the rest of your time but still be careful.lots of Love to you all Love Mum and Dad casey xxx
Hey ducks! Hey Gina G and Jem and Fiona
Firstly I must apologise I have not been in touched for such a while. I have just spent the last hour or so catching up on all your blogs. It sounds and looks like you are having a fab time.
My hats go off to you all, coping with all the creeping crawlies and animals on the jungle trek - rather you than me! Oh my god, how big was that lizard?
Glad to hear you begining to live it up in more comfort, that you have used to in the last few months.
We are experinecing a heat wave at the moment, and would really apreciate one of those beaches you've been spending the majority of your time on.
Well enjoy the last part of your trip, and remember be safe and look after one another, especially Jem (near any stairs!). See you very soon x
Take care x Missing you loads Gina G x
KERRY AND SONNIE
Booked you all in at AA Hi all, How's the liver coping - in case you didn't remember we still have alcohol in the pubs - its just smoking that we don't do. One again great travelblog. Hope your ears are all right after your diving.
MFrom Blog: Full moon, half moon, total eclipse!
Did you meet any werewolves? Hello ladies - looking v tanned and happy - weather here is picking up - so perhaps we can begin to imagine that we're on holiday too!?? As if!!
Course is finished, however, i'm not really a lady of leisure, there seems to be lots of things to do! Hey-ho!
As you've been to a full moon party - have you come across any werewolves yet? HEE HEE! The face paint looks good - very scary and menacing Jem! Can't say much for the blokes behind you - pale and puny springs to mind!!
Anyway enough drivvel from me - keep doin watcha doin and enjoy - you lucky cows!!!
lots of love and kisses
Cumsxxx
Cockroach or Baby Spider????? Hi
Is there anything left for you to see - You are still finding lots of interesting places to visit . I presume the Rooney shirt went to the bottom of the rucksack and a Ronaldo one was bought and shredded into little pieces. Jem on the jetski - now this I would have loved to see - I know what I feel like getting turfed off a lilo but a jetski.
It didn't suit you behind bars so just be careful for the last 2 weeks of your trip.
Love to you all
Joan
Jetski etski Sounds like a Kosavan tennis player. haha
Jetskiing sounded like fun once you had got on the thing Jem.
So you haven`t got fed up with drinking etc even though you have done so much of it, so no change there then.?.
Only two weeks left so make the most of it.!.
Love to all especially Spem. XXX.Mad (Jeff N Les )
once we were warriors A fearsome pair to be sure in your warpaint - a full moon clearly brought out the madness - downing buckets of that elixir no doubt helped. Dont know how you made it till seven in the morning - the war paint must have run a little by then - not a pretty site no doubt.
Hope you are over the hang-over by now. I wonder you remember enough to write about it.
Take that shirt back Well buying a Rooney shirt and joking about the outcome certainly put the 'mokkers' on England - hope Gina got her money back.
Nice photo of the three of you before our demise but I wondered whether you looked better in the bar or behind bars.
The beaches look great but where are all the people - you seem to get them to your selves. Not sure Lord Cornwallis would appreciate the additional title you bestowed upon him - ah well there you go.
Double your money There is a saying girls that if there is a full moon you should turn your money over and one way or another you will end up with more my uncle told me this and it has worked for him. Sorry I didn't tell you before you might all be millionaires by now.The porcelain god bit threw me at first then I realised you meant Jem had her head down the loo (silly mum). There is a song with It Had To Be you in it and going by Jem's antics on just about everything may be it should be dedicated to her. I would love to have been sitting on the coach watching jem coming bump bump bump down the stairs I hope you didn't have a skirt on.Okay Phi Phi has found her island now Gina and Jem need an island named after them unless you have already found one amongst all those lovely ones you have visited.Glittery twirly skirts girls be careful you don't turn too girly girly I am sure they look ravishing. I think I would prefer to find a nice little beach without all those backpackers I mean who do they think they are dancing on the beaches, drinking out of buckets, painting all their bodies !!!! at least some have the sense not to try and tread on the hot fire coals.I am pleased that none of you decided to have a go at the thai boxing and that the only sport you played was connect four at least it is safer oh and less energetic.Girls enjoy the rest of your journey and still be careful. We look forward to seeing you all. We miss you. Make the most of your time left. Lots of Love mum and dad casey xxx
Jealousy Hi Fiona
As the comment title said I am green with jealousy - last time I saw Penang I was a nipper. It was lovely then and no doubt it is still.
Your time is nearly over and it seems to have been a great ball! Look forward to the long video of your experiences over a glass or two!
Love Don and Janet
Chunder Harris! That's a slightly different version of events from what Jem wrote me! She harped on about the cat fight over the missing flip flop - NOT chucking her guts up down the toilet!!! I feel for her poor liver and kidneys.
Keep having mucho fun you Three Musketeers.
Til next time, Jo xx
Hi one and all Hi Jem and girls.....good to receive all your news again, I don`t know how you`ll find being back in the u.k after all your adventures, pretty drab I suspect!! Make the most of the rest of your amazing trip and keep staying safe. Weather here at the moment is great and getting even hotter for the weekend, so I guess we`ll all be getting the bbqs going and putting the beer and wine on ice! Great stuff.....see, you`re not the only ones who can party!! take care, lots of love, J xxxxxx
jailhouse rock I guess with the air con on the cell's it would be the best place to boogie on down rather than the clubs or bars though I expect they have air con to.At least you lot wasn't behind bars for real and for that I am grateful.I see jem provided the entertainment once again good job you don't mind being laughed at Jem.photo's are good. I hope you didn't make Fiona stay on her knees too long Gina.Straws and buckets of beer too much for me girls though I doubt you feel the same as photo's prove.Keep on enjoying yourselves girls and take care. Lots of Love Den and John Casey xxx
Wish I was there! Hey 3 bronzed goddesses, I'm loving the tans and Malaysia looks so beautiful and unspoiled. Gotta be better than London. Although we're promised a sunny and warm weekend - going for a barbie which should be cool :-)
Just 2 and a half weeks to go! Sorry but am looking forward to seeing you back in Blighty.
Loads of love, Jo xx
Alls well that ..... Despite the title I read this blog a little uneasily realising the perilous car journey you encountered. Fortunately peril turned to paradise. Anyway good that you are pointing out these pitfalls to other backpackers who may read the blogs.
Not sure where you're heading next but hope it goes it more safely.
bores and boars Whether on the dance floor or in the rain forest you seem to have your hands full avoiding the local hazards - still you're stocking up quickly on life experiences. Did anyone get a picture of your rant at the barman - I think under the circumstances 'doing a runner' might be excused. Towerful pics of Kuala Lumpar and 'gripping' shots of your Indiana Jones poses on the walkways.
Great blog - keep em coming
Myself , Gina and Jemma have decided to pack in our jobs in favour of 6 months backpacking round the world.
Starting in Rio in February we are travelling around Brazil, Argentina, Chile and taking on the Inca trail in Peru. After South America we are returning to the western world and some hot showers in NZ and Oz before and a week basking in the Bali sun. After recharging our batteries in Bali we're off again to Singapore, travelling up through Malaysia to the Thai islands, Bangkok and hopefully time permitting to Cambodia, Laos and Vietnam.... full info
