This is just a general post to wrap up the trip. Most of my time in Oregon was spent with my mother and around the town of Florence. I hope in these blogs I've given you a little taste of the town. I found it delightful and although it may seem like a small town it has a lot of history and it a very beautiful place to be. For New Year's Eve I spent it at one of the few places to party, the local casino. My mother and I got dressed up and ate dinner in one of the restaurants inside. Well, because I could not put up that footage of beautiful Santa Barbara last time I bring you three videos of Florence. I did label one downtown shops, but it's really just one. And it's really just a mural. Though I think it's very pretty. Not much to report my first full day in Florence my mother drove me to the shops on the marina. At least I think that is what you would call it. I guess in May there are merchants who sell wares along the path there but they've all gone home for winter. I am actually enjoying the fact that this is the off season for the town and most of the tourists have gone home. Well to answer the previous questions all my amtrak trains were on time. Even a little bit early. Which made for an excellent trip. Was able to save on expenses by packing my own meals. I brough bagels, peanut butter,bananas, and soda. I didn't spend more than $10 on train food. I took the Chatsworth train to Los Angeles and not much to report there. It was a 20 minute trip and nothing much happened. Didn't really talk to anyone and this part of the trip is not memorable to me. So I can't write much more than that. The big chunk of the trip was Los Angeles to Oregon on the Starlight Express. It goes up the coast to Seattle but my stop was in Eugene, Oregon. I found out while I was waiting for ... read more
