The Good We are healthy and eating local food. There have been no serious illnesses save a head cold for the both of us, but other than that our digestive systems are working as they should. Also, if you look at our old entries we have added pictures so check them out. I think Lucy’s modeling skills will WOW! you. We loved Cambodia. I must say, it was difficult for both of us to leave without Maddox II. The children are so beautiful. Maybe in a couple of years we will get one over here. Cambodia was much more westernized than [View Full Entry]

Cambodia is a blast. More on that in a sec. First, a few updates. Health I am happy to report that after a second trip to the hospital (complete with an IV and injection of some sort), Kate is in good health once again. The itchy hand rash remains, but we'll take care of that eventually. I'm feeling decent too, having conquered some object that decided to lodge itself in my eye for a day. The Grand Palace & Emerald Buddha While Kate was puking in the room and having the nervous breakdown that led to her finally seeking medical help, [View Full Entry]

For some reason, crazy, creepy eye monsters were everywhere, and Moria had to join the kids in the fun.
Health Update: I am glad that the only people concerned about my vomitting spell were my mother and Julia so thanks everyone for taking Moria's words with a grain of salt. I must say it was ugly. At the weekend market in BangkokI had meat on a stick, because I can't say no to that, then felt funny. On the bus home I made Moria get off the bus early so that I could vomit in an alley for about fifteen minutes. The next few days were ugly, actually the whole week. On Thursday I had a rash on my hands [View Full Entry]

This doesn't capture the chaos or the smell, but we had to share it.
This was supposed to be a joint blog with me summarizing our techno evening and Kate summarizing Mumbai, but Kate just puked six or seven times in an alley, so she's resting instead. Don't fret... I'm sure she's fine. We take turns with this stuff. I'll be due for a round in a few weeks since my body needs to adjust to Southeast Asia. Leaving Kochi was interesting to say the least. We were scrambling to find a rickshaw that would take us to the train station for a reasonable price, and we couldn't find a single driver that would take us there without showing us a shop. Finally, one said he would do it without any detours. He was a liar and just wanted to get us in his car. When he tried to suggest that it would be better for everyone involved to stop at one of his shops, Moria had had enough of people try to take advantage of us and screamed [View Full Entry]

Oh, so much to share. First of all, this is Moria, and I'm alive. We'll address the illness last. Here's what we've been up to since we last posted. Varkala Beautiful. I had a love/hate relationship with it though. What I loved: It's a beach town set on a cliff. All of the restaurants and hotels are set high on the cliff, so you gaze at the glistening ocean below while you dine, stroll, etc. The winding cliff also makes you feel like you're almost completely alone on the clean beach. You swim in a little inlet, and you are happy. [View Full Entry]

This was supposed to be Moria's blog entry, but since dysentery has gotten the best of her and is coming out of both ends I must write in her place. Please forgive me because this is going to be a long one. Since our last entry we have been holidaying on the east coast of India and bathing in the Bay of Bengal. Although the water is not very clean it is nice and warm. We started our stint here with a ten hour bus ride from Bangalore to the former French colony of Pondicherry. The bus ride was not much [View Full Entry]

Waiting for the bus to Udaipur.
It was late. I was sad.
First, an update on dysentery: we have all had our second round. Hopefully, the south will be kinder to our stomachs than the north. But that is to be determined. So, on our flight from London to Delhi a lovely girl, Deepika, sat in our row. She lives in Udaipur, the most beautiful city in Rajastan. We are not biased. It is true. It is surrounded by lakes (which were just filled by the monsoons) and mountains on all sides. Some of you may even know it from the James Bond film Octopussy. Udaipur is the Venice of India, and it [View Full Entry]

To summarize the past few days: Taj Mahal Awe-inspiring. On the reals. I thought it would be a dirty disappointment, but it wasn't. Words can't do the sight of it at dawn justice, so just go if you ever get the chance. Jaipur A relief from the touts of Agra. We spent our first day running errands, since basics tasks take twice as long in India. Our second day consisted of a LONG bus tour. We wound up paying way more than the Rough Guide had led us to believe we would on the tour, but we also got to see [View Full Entry]

Hello, this is Kate and my apologies if my entry is not as humorous as Moria's previous ones. Anywho, we finally were able to leave the metropolis known as Delhi. Our first experience with the train station was being overwhelmed by people running everywhere to catch their trains, while this morning at 6 we got to see how the other half lives. Bodies of women and children were scattered across the station's floor as it is one of the safer places to sleep for those that have no shelter. It was an interesting wake-up call for all of us. We did [View Full Entry]
