hi david, great photos and notes - wuld love to have a few more tips re how to re hotels, food, transport, and tours-what to look out for and not to do, etc.
still a great armchair travelogue - cheers
Am I jealous? David - I've enjoyed your blogs as much as you seem to be enjoying India. I'm envious of your wildlife encounters in Bandhavgar but, if you thought that was great, I can assure you that East Africa will blow your socks off. Serengeti, Masia Mara, Chobe, Murchison Falls - you've still got the best to come. I've got the t-shirt - but I'd go again tomorrow! Keep Smiling! Mike
You the Man David- your travel adventure sounds and looks amazing. I will miss your presence tommorow when your beloved Indiana Pacers beat up on our hapless Seattle Supersonics. The blog is excellent.
Horn Please! I love the blog today - Joanna commented as well... we are living vicariously through you now - thanks for the blog - i wish i could upload my video out the window one time - you were in the front seat and this cow crossed the street and you said "did you get the cow?" India by way of Indiana keep it coming xox Holli

The Motherland I don't know what you're complaining about. The honk and swerve has been serving dangerously aggressive drivers like myself (and my spiritual kinsmen) for centuries. It is truly an art. And if a few tourists in rickshaws have to lose a limb in the process, at least we're making good time.
Have a great time and keep the updates coming!

U R A rock star So many turning points. You finally doing this travel you've been talking about since I met you a few years back. Me, and now I see Alisa (congrats) engaged, I hope that some fairy will come and sprinkle dust on Pete and I so we can fly to Africa and visit next year. Sweet and Dandy those dreams are. Hugs.
Sup donks Glad you made it there safely. Keep it gangsta out there!!! I'll do my best to keep you updated on the Colts!!! It's to bad that they're gonna win the superbowl when your in Africa :)
Congrats!! You're doing it!!! Yay! So exciting to hear from you. I'm eating up every detail already. News for you: I'm engaged! Maybe we'll come visit in Africa if we feel ambitious about the honeymoon? :) Cheers to you. Eat up some extra superlicious Indian food for me. -Alisa
On my birthday in 2006 I bought a one-way ticket to East Africa, by way of India. For many years I had not only wanted to travel, but to stop and live in a place (or places) while immersed in other cultures.
What follows is a catalog of posts from different moments and places from the journey. Scroll down to pick a journal entry about my travels in India during fall/winter of 2006 or my time spent in 2007 volunteering with the Jane Goodall Institute in Tanzania and Uganda. If reading is not your fancy, have a look at some of the pictures I to... full info
