Actually, no time at all! Central Station Hostel is just directly across the street from the main train station...just cross the tram tracks and you're already there! =D Have a fun and safe trip!
Belgrade Very interesting blog :) I'm considering travelling by train to Belgrade, sleeping at the same hostel as you. If I come with the 00.30 train in the night, is it far to walk to the hostel ?
MY friend I am from Skopje and I am very sorry for you that you havent managed to see my home city in it's real light :s
I totaly agree whith the comment above! :)
bus I'm planning my trip to Belgrade and don't have a lot of time to go to Kosovo, but would really like to. While planning from NY, can you tell me the best way to research the bus timetables ahead of time to see if it's feasible for the days that I have free? Thank you!
"I guess this is the part where I say something about how these past 10 weeks have changed my life..."
I was expecting a 5 pg essay. And you wrote 5 bullet points.....
WELCOME BACK
Poooorly planned trip, for sure plus horrible weather... According to your explanations you ended in the really poor parts of the city. Also in the mostly muslim part of the city. Macedonia is 1/4 muslim, and you just saw the 1/4 part.
Anyway, feel free to ask for suggestions the next time you visit Skopje...
Have a nice trip!
haha! now that I think about it, she probably had a stunt double do that take...or she velcro-ed herself to the mule, maybe :D. I can't believe she's from Houston!
so yux, yesterday I was reading this article on the highlights of the city of Brussels, and I read that there's a statue of 'a young boy peeing into a pond' (verbatim, I swear) that is quite famous and well-known...he has been "dressed" in an assortment of outfits, which are now on display at a local museum...and I thought of you of course, lol.
thanks a bunch joyce, lol. I've learned to live without ever knowing the time...except when I have to get up early hahaha. Since my mom's here, things should be more stable (and I will actually be eating now...and real food too! :)))) for the next 10 days or so!
geez carissa after reading these crazy entries i'm just glad you're surviving/haven't been kidnapped! (jk) how are you traveling around without a watch?! and buy warmer clothes... hope things have calmed down for you.
