After a delayed train from Lopburi (it was supposed to leave at 11:30, but didn't leave until 1:30) I had a pretty ridiculous day of travel. The final destination was Kanchanaburi, and busses left Bangkok every 30 min. or so, until 5:00. I got in to the Bang Sue train station at 4:45, and I was going to be damned if I spent the night in Bangkok again. I got off of the train, found one of those half insane, half brain damaged (probably from falling off of their bikes) motor bike taxis, and said if he could get me to the Mo Chit bus station in 10 min. Quick update on the last few weeks. Spent two nights in Bangkok. Arriving at about midnight, I didn't have time to look for a decent priced hotel, so I ended up overpaying by quite a bit. Of course. Spent two nights there, meeting with a couple friends (Sarah and Elliott) on the second. They teach english right outside of Bangkok in Chachoengsao. I Spent the next four nights in Chach (as they call it) visiting some English classes, and taking in a smaller town than Bangkok, which was nice. Bangkok was interesting, but after a while, a city is just a city to me. There are honestly only 20 or so farrang in Chach at any given moment, so this was where I learned most of my functional Thai thus far. Loved the little city. Loved ... read more
