So today we woke bright and early at 6am to hit up the early entry for disneyland. Its remarkable how a place like disneyland can actually make you WANT to get up that early and you arent even grumpy. Altho I did get a seriously awful headache considering I didnt get coffee... but anyways. So the first thing when we got there was run STRAIGHT for space mountain, cause, naturally its the best ride. Plus we wanted to beat the crazy line ups that we knew would be coming later on in the day. That ride is so much better now that they play the red hot chili peppers song "Higher Ground" After that we did star tours and buzz lightyear astro blasters about a million times for Matthew (his favorite.) From there we headed ... read more

So i have just returned from an absolutely lovely week in Northern Ireland! We travelled it EXTENSIVELY... I dont even know if I can remember what we did every day. We got home from Glasgow on... Wed. night okay so on Thursday we went over to newcastle by the sea and drove through the mourn mountains. That night I believe we just rented what turned out to be a rubbish film called "alot like love" seriously, dont bother, waste of time! On friday all of us (well, except poor peter) did the grand tour. We went to the Giants causeway and looked at the cliffs, then off to Dunluce castle and a little rope bridge place. It was an absolutely GORGOUS weather day and we just had a fantastic time. That night we went to ... read more

UNBELIEVABLE! I WENT TO GLASGOW!!! You have NO idea how exciting this was for me... when I flew in I was just looking at these gorgeous country sides with beautiful beaches and rugged terrain and I seriously wanted to cry. Once there of course I was just blown away. I thought Dublin was something? Glasgow was even BETTER! The first afternoon we just kind of explored Buchannon street and the galleries (shops) and then headed for Andrews flat. The architecture is phenomenal. Every building has a history and the detailed work would just blow you away. Andrew took us to Glasgow Uni after that... the place looks like a castle from harry potter; absolutely incredible. I actually ran up to it and put my hands on it cause I was so excited (its from the ... read more

So ive been thoroughly enjoying my time here in Dublin city. Over the last couple of days though Louise and I have ventured outward into the rolling hills of Ireland. On saturday we drove half an hour to a massive manor called Powerscourt. We had a little lunch there and wandered the tourists shops and marveled at the size of the estate. It would have belonged to a "lord" of the land back in the 1800s. Man alivin were these people rich. After we headed further down to Doneylough (pronounced doneloch) where they have two beautiful lakes situated amongst the hills. Beside one of the lakes is an old monks village which was fascinating. There were old churches, towers and ANCIENT fancy graves. Then we just went around for a walk and enjoyed the sun ... read more

So yesterday was quite a day!!! I woke up around 9 or so and headed off into town by myself. It was really easy actually. I had tourists asking ME how the train worked! I absolutely LOVE DUBLIN CITY! Its quite crazy because everything there is sooo ooold. Its not like walking around Vancouver where its all skyscrapers. Everything here has a history. I hung out on Grafton street for a few hours by myself just wandering the shops. Its a pedestrian only street so thats rather handy. People all through the streets were selling flowers and playing the violin and everything. Oh and theres REAL GYPSYS! Of course they arent thought of highly because they just try and get money off of you and park there trailers wherever they please. I met Louise for ... read more

So its day... well is it day 2 or 3 here in Ireland? I really cant keep track of the days im so totally backwards here. Anyways, last night was really cool! Louise and I went for a drive around Dublins coast. We had a beautiful view of the Atlantic Ocean and it was sunset, so it made a great picture opportunity. The roads are so narrow along there tho, theres only room for one car at a time, so that makes for an interesting driving. Louise had a good laugh at me because we would pass these beautiful stone castle like building and apperently they were only churches. We did however see a castle owned by the one and only BONO FROM U2! That was the highlight of my drive. I was going to ... read more

To Ireland So since im just waiting for Louise to get home from work, I thought id do a quick little update on the goings on so far... My flight left Vancouver at about 530 pm on April 4th. Thankfully it was a direct flight AND i got window seat haha. Although there wasnt much in the way of entertainment on the flight, I got to see the rockies for the first hour or so and then once I was up over the North West Territories the northern lights were RIGHT outside my window. Now I had never seen the northern lights before but they were absolutely beautiful. I didnt get a wink of sleep and yet somehow the guy next to me managed to be zonked out for most of the flight. He was a ... read more

Mexico was one of the best vacations ive ever had! It was two weeks of pure relaxation and sun. Karolina and I would wake up around 700am, grab a starbucks cold frap from the store and lay out on the pool chairs and take a little nap. Every now and then wed take a dip in the pool or go for a stroll on the beach, but other then that we didnt move much haha. We could even have our food and drinks delievered to our beach chair!! We got SO nicely tanned its insane!! We didnt want to leave!! Some of the highlights of the trip would be: - Playing cards at night with Karolina while we ate our noodles from Walmart - Taking dance lessons and going for bikerides with "the boys" - Watching ... read more
