This is a beautiful place particularly in the Ningaloo Nat Park. We had to line up at the gate early to get in, but ended up at Ned's Camp. Everyone is really friendly and out for fun. We snorkled at Turquoise and Oyster Stacks. These were awesome. The fish were so colorful and so close. One lady saw a shark which I am glad I missed. We did a trip up the Yardie Creek gorge and checked out all the beaches. Have left and heading towards Coral Bay.... read more

Sleeping next to ocean was awesome. The sunrise this morning was stunning. It is actually now 8:20am and we are sitting around relaxing and watching the tide return. Yesterday when we got here we were treated to a show with huge whales breaching on the horizon. Then 10 pelicans drifted past looking for a feed of fish. Today is a little overcast at the moment but often warms up as the day goes on. It has been great to read all the comments, so keep them coming. Am guessing we will have more phone coverage now so might be a bit more regular with our entries. Happy birthday brother Pete. Have a great day.... read more

Arrived in Karratha after cruising down from Port Hedland. Weather looking like rain, so booked into park at Karratha. Hasn’t rained yet! Everyone in Sunday mood. Tomorrow we don’t have work so all good. Peter found reality at wharf in Port Hedland when a man started preaching him on the ways of creation in the virtual world!! Any more info required talk to Pete later. Lots of history at Roebourne and Cossack. Pete and I enjoyed going through the old goal at Roebourne, although what occurred was a little confronting. John and Brickie made lunch and didn’t partake of the history lesson! Mum (Ella) may never eat salt again if she saw the bulldozers and graders driving over it and heaping it into piles to put into ships and send away!!! It’s a little cooler today...about ... read more

After a week of travelling, crossing the Gibson desert, seeing camels, lots of great sunsets and sunrises, expensive petrol (2.80 and 3.20) aboriginal communities, sand storms and lots of interesting country in between we have arrived at Port Hedland. Camping along the way we have enjoyed many nights eating, drinking and watching the stars. The boys even managed an ice-cream cake for my birthdat last Thursday. Carrawine Gorge was lovely and a nice place to sit in water and wash the dust off. Peter here - having a great time & totally unstressed! The country has been tough, dry, barren & bloody empty. I'm putting up with Brickie & the VB's are holding out. Enjoyed following Len Beadell's markers & story I have previously read. He established alot of roads in the outback & was the ... read more
