Last night was my first real tango opportunity. We had a party for the program, and everyone got together at La Fluvial, the best place in the city to get a bunch of American college students drunk on red wine without many serious repercussions. It was beautiful, right on the river with a balcony overlooking everything. Beba, the director of the program, had scared up about 10 tango instructors to teach the American kids how to dance. For me, it was lovely. I had the opportunity to dance with two of them throughout the course of the night. It was great, but slightly more difficult with the compromised balance that comes with too much alcohol.
