Ok, been quite a while since the last update and will be interestimng how long can I keep motivated writing this... :) From Khao Sok I took a minibus to Krabi and spent few days there. First place where I stayed was called Chan Cha Lay and was very nice hotel/questhouse. Coolest thing was the open air bathroom! They had built some kind of appandages to the building and so that the toilet was under cover but the shower was under the sky. Really nice one! If you ever go to Krabi town, i recommend to try that one. I spent couple of days hanging around the city and walked quite a lot. Experienced my first "culture shock" in Thailand! There's a semi big mall in Krabi and it was a weird moment to get there. ... read more

Even I thought that the trip from Tao to Khao Sok would be a boring one, it ended to be one of the funniest i've been. Second last transport method was a bit surreal, I think it was called a songthaew (or something like that) and it was a toyota pickup and there was 12 of us in the back compartment in the two row of seats. They had extended the seats so that last two persons sat in the lowered backdoor about half meter out of the pickup... The face of the girl who got last into the pickup was quite funny :) The fun started after a while when I and two Germans got into the minibus to Khao Sok. From nearby stop several locals entered the van and first one was a bit ... read more

Thai boxing night was cool! The event was held at the outdoor thai boxing arena and there were quite a lot of people there. about half farangs (foreigners) and half local. The event had 9 fights and on fighter was a Swedish guy David who had his first thsai boxing fight in Thailand. The event started with the national anthem of Thailand and after that the first boxers entered the arena. Before every fight the boxers have some pretty nice rituals and there's traditional music in the background, very nice atmosphere. In the 5th match the boxers were little kids, maybe about 7-10 years old and they were really energetic and the crowds were cheering a lot more than in the other fights. The winner of the fight was titled to some kind of champion and ... read more

6th of December we had morer theory and dive from the shore. There is a niced reef starting just from the beach. We did a dive there and there was quite a lot of stuff to see. Although nothing to be compared what we were gonna see later. The 6th of Dec is also the Independence Day in Finla nd so we celebrated that with a BBQ at a bar in the northern Sairee beach. Quit a lot of Finns there, some of them working here and some of them tourists. Had a fun night but had to quit quite earlyt because for the next day was scheduled the exam and last two dives. The exam went well (49/50) and after that we geared up and loaded into KTD's dive boat. We headed to close by ... read more

It's Kings Birthday today and pretty nice evening, little bit of fireworks going on and those candle air balloons floating in the air all the time. In Finland people thought last spring that they are UFOs until someone told that they are just lanterns in the air. Looks very cool though. I'm sitting now ate the beach bar sipping some singha and waiting for my coconut curry soup, so I'll write quickly what has happened during the last few days. As normally, the flights sucked. The ground crew at Helsinki-Vantaa airport had a strike on the departure day and the flight was delayed for over two hours. Of Course after we were boarded the plane... Good thing was that all my stuff found it's way to bangkok at the same time as I did. Flying sucks ... read more

Suomeksi vai enkuksi? In Finnish or in English? I think the answer is in English because there might be few people who don't want to read this in Finnish. And Bad English is the most spoken language in the world so I'll stick with it. Well, the trip is now near and today got a bit more things to worry about. The Finnair is on strike again and not certain about the flights tomorrow... The flight is scheduled to leave at 8.15AM and the strike will continue until 10AM. Just saw from news that there is few cancelled flights already. And if the flight departs on time will the checked in luggage follow? Well, we'll see that tomorrow. People have asked why I chose Thailand for the first destination of my trip. Because it's quite (and ... read more
