babyape1 - Mies Griffioen

Mies Griffioen Let me tell you a bit about myself. I am from Perth, Australia. When I finished school my parents took me on a trip around Australia for 18 months. Since then I have had the traveling bug. I have also been to the Philippines, Thailand, Norfolk Island and New Zealand. I had a hospitality job for a few years but I got sick of it and decided I needed a change. Until now I have only done small trips. My trip coming up will be for a year or more. In mid January I will be going to Laos and Cambodia for three months and then Europe for a bit and who knows after that? I have been preparing for this trip for at least six months and now I am really looking forward to going. I hope you will enjoy reading my blogs as I will enjoy writing them! If you have any handy tips or nice places to stay in the areas I am going to, will be much appreciated.

DAY ONE We travelled in a sawngthaew for two hours, picking up locals and dropping them off in different places. Savannakhet is well known for dinosaur footprints so we saw a few near a small river. They were quite small, with three claws. I was expecting bigger and more impressive prints. Then we travelled two more hours [View Full Entry]

Paradise at Sabang

 Asia » Philippines » Palawan » Sabang
We organised the package tour before we left Perth. It included transport from Puerto Princesa to Sabang, three nights accommodation, and tours to the underground caves, waterfall and mangroves. The road going to Sabang was terrible. Most of it was dirt and rock and hadn't been graded for a long time. It had been raining before we arrived at Palawan so the dirt turned to mud and in some parts I thought the driver, Bot, wouldn't get through. But we always managed, with a big smile on Bots face the whole time. The scenery was amazing though. We passed a lookout [View Full Entry]
