parquet hey.
only because i feel obligated in my designgeek way, you got the spelling of "parquet" correct, but "real" and "fake" don't apply - parquet is a pattern, not a material (if you remember, if you even paid attention (not that you'd have had reason to), my brookline apartment had parquet floors). it's pretty much always wood, and *that* can be real or fake, but much like, say, plaid, it either is or it isn't - no 'real' or 'fake'. :)

A Sad Pause As much I looked forward to reading about your journey each day, I'm sad to see this chapter come to a close! I'm glad you had an amazing trip, and I look forward to your next one.
I see you have names your day "Museum quest"...Is that a nod to the ever-famous "PIE QUEST 2006"? ;) Glad you are having so much fun - but we miss you here! -B
funny you took a picture of my old apartment building!!! i lived above the bar hipopatamo. been reading your blog for awhile and im glad you are enjoying it.
Subte Lines I think they probably replaced the busy lines with newer cheaper and more wear resistant cars. The neighborhood lines probably get less use,
and are further down the list to get replaced.
Too bad, the wooden paneling really adds character.
