Amazing!!! Everything looks totally brilliant! As if i'm not keen enough you're whetting my appetite even more. If you've got 2 mins or anyone else following your trip could let me know if sorting trips/tours yourself when in South America is possible, easy to do and most importantly financially more viable. It's just the prices of tours seem extortionate this side. Also whats public transport like? Not inner city but long distance? Any help would be great....from anyone!!! Thanks a lot. Cannot wait to see more of your blogs. Good luck. Mick
Happy Trails Thoroughly enjoying your blog. It is bringing back many memories of my trip. I took the Inca trail with a team of barefoot sherpas carrying all the camping equipment. They would run ahead and have the camp all set up when we finished our day of hiking. Good thing too because i had a bit of altitude sickness or maybe it was their garlic soup? I was in a group with all Americans and they were all well behaved but not all in good hiking condition. Enjoy the rest of your travels.
Enjoy! I did this trek 20 years ago and I remember on the last day of hiking with Machu Pichu in sight, I had to slow down and savor every step. It is amazing.
Congratulations You are making me sick for not coming on that trip...and it's only the beginning. Have a blast!
PS - quinoa in chocolate? I'll have to give that a try.
There were some soccer fans. I am waiting to trade some pictures around with some of the guys at dinner tonight. I did not know they made the semi-finals. That is great news and a great way to end the season. Hopefully CASL can come crashing down this weekend. Good luck.
Congratulations, You did it! Thanks for sharing your climb with us. We were worried we wouldn't hear from you again. But very glad you survived with a great story to tell. What is next? Oh, Spanish class! Not nearly as exciting. We also loved your story of the Bolivia game. Were there any soccer fans on the hike with you? If so, what clubs did they support?
BTW, in case you didn't know, the team made it to the semi-finals!
Happy travels, keep posting to the blog!
Yeah...i just got back into town...that was in no way shape or form a beginners climb. In all honesty though, I am glad I did not see your comment until I had completed it.
good luck i subcribed to your blog out of interest of what you think of the huyana potosi climb. you describe it as a beginer climb, which from a technical stand-point it is, but doing anything at 20000 feet above sea level is very difficult. i did the climb last summer and it was one of the hardest thing i have ever done. good luck to you.
Living vicariously through your adventure Jimmy,
Thanks for doing the blog. I'm emailing the boys right now and we'll be anxious to hear from you. Maybe you can post pictures when you find a decent Internet connection.
