While in India last year I made a lot of decisions about my life and have given myself a new goal......within the next 5 years I want to relocate to Asia and start to work in aid work. I'm now busy researching all possibilities.

Hijacking the tuktuk
A year ago I decided to go to Vietnam and Cambodia this year for my hols. While researching I stumbled upon the Travelblogs of Claire Hall alias "The Soul Cultivator" (http://www.travelblog.org/Asia/Cambodia/North/Angkor/blog-248870.html) and immediately subscribed. I avidly followed her and Stu's adventures around Asia and often found myself engrossed not only in her wonderful way of describing the places they went and the people she met and their experiences but also loved her pictures which are really unique. Claire's blogs really moved me to tears several times and eventually I got in contact and let her know my plans to go to Siem Reap and that I would visit Houn and the kids. Pink door
After jumping in my prepaid taxi at Delhi airport the wild journey in to the heart of the city began. Shortly after I wondered what I'd got myself in to? I'm not new to travel but my first half hour of India was definately an eye opener. By the time we reached my hotel I was ready for a nap anyway so slept for a while and then had a walk around the neighbourhood. I still wasn't sure what I'd got myself in to this time and was looking forward to meeting up with the other people I was going to travel with the next couple of weeks. RECOVERED
I'm fortunate enough to live in one of the most gorgeous places around. When on my days off or on late shift (I work on reception at a hotel) I'm usually found out on the mountain. Wengen is a really great place to live with superb hikes in summer and unlimited skiing opportunities in winter. We are located high above the Lauterbrunnen Valley with unblievable views of the surrounding mountains. Here's a colection of pictures from hikes around the area.... read more
Suspension Bridge
My love affair with Nepal started in 1999 when two of my friends from the U.S. and I headed off for a 3 week trek from the suburbs of Kathmandu, via the Holy Lakes of Gosainkund to the Langtang and back to Kathmandu. The next time I visited was 2002 when I dragged my friend John to trek for 2.5 weeks from Jiri to Tengboche. We liked this area so much we returned two years later for 7 weeks and trekked once again from Jiri and also went up Mera Peak and then via Lukla to Gokyo and Kala Patar and back out to Lukla to fly back to Kathmandu.
