say a quick hello from a stranger Welcome to Hangzhou!Hope you will enjoy the life here...Spring is the best season in Hangzhou, a visit to the West Lake with your friends is strongly recommended:)
kitty;) "Christine as the devil" - I loved that! And very nice of you, but actually I'm 20;) In anycase, the trekk was cool:) Thanks for that! And I approve - you have nothing to do with the bike accident!
Feel like dancing At the house party on Sat night we dedicated a dance to you and all did that move you're famous for (you know-the one where you do karate chops and push your lips together). It was emotional-Si cried (he didn't really-he just made the strongest punch since Sewage and got everyone wrecked). Just wanted you to know that you were in our thoughts for the whole of the Chaka Khan song. Big love xx
Settled In Hi Al,
Nice to see that you have a place to stay and you convinced them to give you a job! I wish you all the best with your new vocation! By the way, I liked your hair. I'm not going to write anymore, as I have more news on the way...
Tip: maybe for the next sports Wednesday you should organise a game of rounders, and get in some Chinese kids to be fielders! We are planning a game reunion in Dulwich park when it gets warmer. love Ellie
When London Meet Xiaoshan
Welcome, Alex!
I don't know if U can stand the Air Pollution here. Plus, be careful in the street cause the traffic here is badly ruled.
A londonese teaching English in Xiaoshan for one year: Incredible!
Congratulations!! Well done Al! You must be pleased to have finally found a full time teaching job! I have yet another job interview tomorrow at a school literally around the corner (St Johns and St Clements). I'm busy preparing for it now! Have to teach a lesson based on a book and then will have the interview. Will keep you posted on the outcome. In the meantime, I'm still supply teaching and enjoying it. P.S: Not really sure what to make of your new image... It's a bit drastic isn't it?! And yes, you do look like a bit of a thug!! Tut, tut, tut!!
Hi, nice to meet you Seems like you are enjoying travel. If it's convenient we can go out together for some trip. I like hiking, I'm a chinese living in Hangzhou. I'm seeking opportunity for language exchange.
Bonne Chance Hi good luck with the job hunt - hope they come back with a positive response. I am now in my final month at Metal Bulletin Monthly - so I am starting to hunt too.
Love the blog. What will you do next with your hair - dreads, a mohican perhaps?
I never thought you would dump surf hair. You've changed. I laughed for about 10 minutes when Mandy told me you'd shaved your head (I was thinking of the 'incident' in Gilwell-what a funny story) but it looks ok I guess. Better than mine anyway (short at the back, long at the sides, very short at the front. Anyway...) Get a job and sort out your drinking problem.
still missing having me as a bed-mate? well i think your hair looks grand, you did a good job! i let a girl i met in the hostel here in hanoi have a hack at my hair on the rooftop the day after i met her last week so im lookin stellar as well. well if youve been keepin up w/ my blog you'll know what we've been up to but tonite were heading off to sapa (up north) on an overnite train, but an extra special one. cause we have hard SEATS :S not even a bed, fuck! it's gonna be interesting! well i hope you land the job of your dreams soon (or at least....a job...) and keep me updated!
Your blog is awesome! I almost feel like I'm out there with you! Though kind of glad I'm not, it sounds quite scary and why the hell would anyone put a shower above the toilet! Just read all your entries and laughed a lot, especially at the chicken foot photo! Sounds like you're doing really well and have met some lovely people, good luck with getting the visa and then you'll be sorted. Look forward to the next update, lots of love xxx
How's it going EH? Hey bud, sounds like your settling right in, im happy as hell to be out of the refridgerator of an apartment but i'm glad it gave you a roof to sleep under for a couple extra weeks. Diana and I are in Hong Kong and heading south soon, see you in a few months!
hello ex-bedmate! hello from hong kong! i feel so privileged to be mentioned in you blog. however, you need to put up a picture of me asap! i mean, you have a picture of christine. where's the picture of me? by the way, when you see christine tell her i think she looks super hot in that picture. i love her. well im glad to see you're settling into hangzhou. did you name your bike yourself? oh and there is absolutely no shame in eating excessive quantities of mcdonalds. anyway, i'm off to macau for a couple of days tomorrow but when i come back i expect to find a comment from you on my blog! looking forward to hearing from you again.
News from home (London) Hi Al,
Great blog! Very interesting and entertaining. I wish I was with you to meet all these crazy people. Just to correct you on one thing - you left on 11th December from London...look forward to hearing from you soon. Miss you, love Ellie x
I\'ve just moved to China, and have decided to call Hangzhou my home for the next six months. This is going to be a bit of a rubbish travel blog as I\'m not really going to be travelling for the moment but it\'s easier then sending out the big group emails which no-one reads anyway. ... full info
