Awesome blog guys! I def had many laughs and almost years because I miss it all so much! Thanks for writing it, I have already printed it out for a good future read. Miss u guys!
The final African Blog Thanks guys once again, for such a wonderful description of the last part of your African experience. As always for me at the end of a good read, I always feel bereft, saying goodbye to the characters or in this cases the adventures. Happy to have read the description of the riverboarding after event, knowing that you have survived it. I was worried about hot air ballooning and bungy jumping!!!! Am sure that such a wonderful trip will be something you will treasure and reflect upon many times throughout your lives. Make sure that you include these blogs as part of your photo books when you get to put them together.
Wonderful recounting of adventures! Can't wait for the unabridged version.......................... Reading your comprehensive retelling of the trip and the crazy encounters makes me think that maybe it'll be enough African adventure for me too!
Bathroom stops or infrequency of them is always an issue so adding predators to mix of the natural function is not for me. AF47's can jam! & Al birdwatching I think, is up there with lion, elephant & hippo gazing!
Off to see some glaciers 'calve' next week. 'Wild' life for me. I'll be following you from S America tho' so keep smiling & safe both of you.
Much love xxxx
Thanks Guys Sitting here I bed with my new little rug rat sleeping on my chest reading about your adventures and reminiscing about our own jess and I feel like we are right there with you! Thanks for taking the time to share your experiences and thoughts with the rest of us. Be careful white water rafting and enjoy! L, J &Z
Day 15-22 Once again a great read for all of us basking in the monotony of everyday life. Glad you are having so many wonderful experiences, enough to last a life time. Seems there's been a variety of wildlife and you may yet get your treasured photo shot Alex. Love to you both and am looking forward to the next missive in the coming days.
Am certainly enjoying reading about all the action packed days, you are having some great first time experiences! How wonderful as well that the tour is taking you to some out of the way locations -Lesotho for one - and your description of the scenery & activities is informative & colorful.
Can't wait for the pics & videos - in partic 'tweety bird"!
Enjoy! xx
Adventures 6-11 The adventures continue, wow the things you manage to pack into each day. Certainly keeping active. Be careful not to 'run' into many wild animals unaccompanied. We want you home eventually. Lesotho sounds like a wonderful place to engage with some amazing people. Looking forward to a sample of some of the photos when the opportunity to upload occurs. Take care of each other and continue to embrace the adventures.
Day 2-5 What a way to conquer your fears Simon, congratulations. Did you eventually enjoy the experience, perhaps in retrospect? Can't wait to see the videos. Well written episode, really feel part of the adventure Keep on enjoying the adventures Colleen

On the 27th January 2013, Simon and I set out for a once in a life time opportunity to explore the all intriguing coast of eastern Africa. With our back packs filled to the brim, binoculars in hand, safari shirts worn proudly and our David Attenborough accents well rehearsed, we set out with much excitement for our 54 days of camping and adventure. We look forward to sharing our experiences and encounters along the way. Stay tuned for the first instalment commencing in Cape Town.... full info
