We awoke the following day and checked the time and realised it was 3pm. This was obviously down to jet lag not the amount of Sangsom and Chang consumed or the fact that we got back to the hostel around 6 am... The only thing we wanted to do this time round in Bangkok was visit The Grand Palace but as this closed at 4pm we decided to leave that to the next day so set ourselves the task of booking our train tickets for the following evening for our journey down south to Khao Lak where we would be volunteer English teachers for a few weeks. After what maybe should have been an emotional goodbye at Heathrow we were on our way to Bangkok for the start of our six month adventure in South East Asia. It still didn't quite seem real that we were about to say goodbye to friends, family, home and a level of comfort for six months. We arrived in Bangkok at around 6pm, after two flights and a short stop in Delhi where we managed to find a Domino's Pizza, and obviously treated ourselves.
