Very, very streange moment for me. You may wonder what I was thinking about in this pic as I gazed across Syria from that window. I am not really prone to deja vu or anything remotely 'other wordly', in fact i am a staunch sceptic with regard to after life stuff and don't believe that there is anything beyond life except of course death. However, I definately had a very strange experience in this room that I couldn't really explain. I had a memory.. a very clear and real memory of the place! Very weird. It has never happened to me before and i have been around a bit... usually with you know who.
Maybe it was the heat...
Kirkpatrick's memorial Hi, Zena, nice collection of photos. The photos are of the South Park Street Cemetery, not park lane cemetery. Kirkpatrick was buried in North Park Street Cemetery, which no longer exists.
Kirkpatrick has a memorial at the St John's Church in Calcutta. Here is a photo of the memorial:

Calcutta Hi, yes I think it was - but the story took place in some anonymous cafe - I should have taken the name, if only so I could avoid it in future!
Thanks for getting in touch

re:Lokesh Hi Zena,
My wife and I visited Lokesh's studio in 2005 while traveling in Udaipur and were quite taken with his paintings. I have since lost the card he gave me and have been unable to find any info n the internet other than your blog. If you have contact details for Lokesh I would appreciate it if you could forward these to the above email address.
Thank you
Rod
After 22 years living and working in London...I've retired and now live in Valencia city, Spain. Most fantastic, buzzy, loud, festival-mad place I have ever lived!
Update: Autumn 2018, back to South-west England. Quite a change, but semi-rural, coastal living is fantastic!
Update: Winter 22, moving to north - east England. Will get back to Europe one day! ... full info
