Blog notes
What an interesting blog! Interesting how travel can build appreciation for one's homeland! Its also interesting how immersed one can get in another culture, to the point that returning home actually causes reverse culture shock. Love the picture of you and your dad in front of that famous tree. So... iconic- light-years away from Psy and Gangnam Style:)

Thanks
Thanks-- I forgot to mention the end of my trip was topped off by the BEST fruit salad I've ever had in my life! ;)

Anyong Haseyo
Seems like just yesterday dad & I took you to the airport! Has it really been a year? I'm sure you have a lifetime of memories... I didn't realize you hadn't told your kids you were leaving them forever! Maybe you and dad can stop by and say bye? Hope its some compensation that you are coming home to several kee-owa kids, with more to come! They are eagerly anticipating seeing their Aunt Yenny again. Have fun with dad!

Hey what's Seongbuk like?
Hi there Yenny, I am about to have an interview with a school (Macmillan)in Seongbuk area and I have no idea what kind of area it is. I have lived in Incheon and Seoul for 2 years so I know about Korea I just cant find anything on the internet about Seongbuk or the school really! So if you know anything I would really like to hear it. Homeplus nearby? Good gym? Easy to get into Seoul? Many foreigners? Good bars? ETC ETC.. ANy info would be great. Cheers Emma

Emma, thanks for reading my blog! I actually have no idea what Seongbuk is like, because I'm a teacher in Seoul! I've been here for almost a year now, but unfortunately, I can't tell you anything about Seonguk. Good luck teaching!

What a hoot!
Your blog entry would make a fantastic article in a travel magazine, Yenny! Ever think of submitting your entries to magazines? If you're tempted, check out http://www.writersmarket.com/ You would need to subscribe to the site (or buy the print version), but they show you how to "get published and paid for your writing." Dan travelled to China many years ago and brought back some 'interesting' examples of slaughtered English. "Three Goods Childs" was stitched on a pair of baby overalls, for example. And Jackie might have told you about the Cuban resort that proudly announced on a wall: "having a good time makes sense!" Huh? Looking forward to more updates! Maureen

It's bad here too!
It's not only in Korea Yenny! Last night Laura, Theo, Rory and I saw a sign in Toronto advertising some children's camp or day program, and one of the skills it lists your child will learn there is "Leader Ship". So strange that we saw that the same day that you posted this blog!

Damo! I totally just wrote this great comment to you and then my internet did a weird thing and I don't think it posted! The main of it is....sounds like you're having a great time, I sent Jackie the link so she can subscribe to your blogs, I think it's funny the kids were afraid of you, and I love reading these so keep 'em coming! Miss you tons! Jules

Yay for a travel blog! Yes. I totally googled you to find it. Those are actually little cookie type things in those vending machines :P but they are red-bean flavored! And Cherry-Blossom was my favourite time of year there. So gorgeous. Hope you loved the Korean BBQ. You MUST try Dak Galbi. By far my favourite meal :)

Better than the Stanley Cup???
Hi Yen: Congrats on the Spanish victory in futball!! We watched the game and rooted for Spain all the way!! However, you've been in Spain too long if you think this is bigger than the Leafs winning the Stanley Cup! And they/we've waited LONGER than 44 years! mom
