Banda Island's history Were you aware before you visited Banda of its historical significance? It was the principle source of nutmeg, which was worth more that gold. The British claimed it, but the Dutch, who controlled all the other Spice Islands wanted it. The British East India Company was vastly outnumbered by the Dutch and suffered as a result. The matter was finally resolved when the Dutch agreed to give up ownship of Manhattan in return for Banda. You can decide who got the better deal.
life looks rough! Hi Guys,
Looks like your having an awesome time!!! We are going to Mexico on the 27th of January til Feb 10th. I decided ....fuck it, I can sit around down there just as well as here. Keep in touch as usual, I'm jealous!

Busy tourity area? Yash, the place looks beautiful. Is it as peaceful as it looks? Are there many tourists in the area or do you pretty much have the beach to yourself?
Customs in HK... Hey you two have a great time on your adventure! Was wondering if you could do me a favor... while in Hong Kong ask if it is custom to walk around naked in the evening while you light candles in the window! Ha ha.. Just like the lady did across the road in Lanes old place!
Have fun.....looking forward (as always) to some photos!
Happy Travels Hey Yash and Svetla,
Sounds like a great trip. Eddie and I are going to be in Malaysia from the end of January to the end of February. Maybe we can meet up? Keep in touch and safe travels xx
We are off to Southeast Asia!! It is Svetla's first trip "East", actually west from Canada, and the third time for me. We plan to visit Hong Kong for 3 days, then Indonesia for about 7 weeks before Malaysia and Southern Thailand for the remaining couple of weeks. We are pretty excited (and nervous) but all in all it should be a great adventure and we expect to have fun exploring some exotic areas of this marvelous world.... full info
