All over Michigan's Lower Peninsula & Western coast. Ever since I moved to the US I fell in Love with Michigan. I like the city centers with nice little shops, the water front properties, the beaches, the evergreens, the log cabins. EVERYTHING!!! Every free time or long weekends I like going to Michigan, see the sand dunes. South Haven have been a MUST see place and it is always in the plan. This time we decided to start the adventure in Kalamazoo (the GF lives there) and go Light House hunting. From Kalamazoo we drove to South Haven. Stayed there for 1 night, then off to Holland MI stopping in Saugatuck for a couple hours. In Holland we went to the Swaan Windmill, the Dutch Village the Downtown shops and restaurants & tried getting to the light house but we couldn't get there. Tried and tried and nothing (a couple years later I finally found the route to get closer to it but still could not touch it. I need more trips to Holland until I can find the correct route to it.) After Holland we kept driving north to Grand Heaven where we stayed that night, saw the light house, went to a very nice Italian restaurant where I had the best tortellini to this date. From there we went to Muskegon to go check out the amusement park there and I probably lost some brain cells after I got out of the Shivering Timbers!!! We rode all the wood roller coasters there (I've never done it before and have no need to ever do it again). Those are skills you develop as a child and I am far ahead in life now... Whitehall was our next stop to go check out a very nice little light house there. The lady there explained us how to get to Little Sable Point Light House but it was closed. It was very high and could have been very nice checking the view from there but oh well. After that we drove to Cadillac where we spent the night. The following day we went to see the house of one of the architects that designed the Grand Hotel in Mackinac Island but it was an actual residency not open to the public so we decided to drive south continuing our adventure in Grand Rapids where we spent the night, the following day we went to the Meijer Sculpture Gardens, Public Museum & John Ball Zoo. We drove and walked all over Grand Rapids. If I had to choose a city to live for a couple years it will be Grand Rapids. Nice restaurants, sculptures everywhere, nice hotels, nice parks, very nice & clean river front. In all one of my top small cities. From there we drove back to Kalamazoo where the summer adventure came to an end.
