Good Day! Well I hope that 2day is a really lovely day for you and you enjoy spending the time in the comfort of a family home, as wont b long until your back in the hostels! Im sure it will be lovely to share Christmas morning with young children as well, hope you have a gr8 big Christmas feed and are soon back to your normal self on the running machine!Lol. Anyway il try give u a call over the new year, I hope this year is your best ever, tho it wil b hard to beat the year uve had in the merry oul land of Oz, New Zealand here u come, dont forget to send me a postcard from there, love me xoxo :)

Hi lads, it's good to hear from you all again. Glad to hear you are still enjoying the trip. Aussie looks great. Don't know if Carl has been in touch lately - he's just been to Egypt for a week, Dave and I have just got back from Tenerife. Sounds pretty tame compared to your life out there, but we had a nice chill out. Can't wait to see you all, it won't be long now and we can have another party! Got to go and catch up on ironing and washing....boring!!! Love Chris xxx

Well you have my sympathy for the trauma of the branding. I had to go to the abattoir a few months ago to get cows legs to cut up (don't ask!) and that was pretty gross, so I imagine that it's even worse with live animals. Hope you get to go in the chopper again to erase the nasty memory. Glad you're having a good time.

Simplest person ever! Orphanage
As in all countries we have the haves and have nots America ,England and also Thailand. KP1958 focused on one small critisism in the blog but there are many good points that promote Thailand which are cleary identified in the authors blog and would encourage people to visit and contribute to the Thai way fo life. Keep the balanced reviews up Martyn.

How do you know education is neglected in Thailand? How do you classify countries simply as successful or unsuccessful? Isn't each country either more or less successful than another? Why do some people like you see things in black and white - rich/poor, good/bad, democratic/undemocratic, First World/Third World, etc. Thailand is doing better than roughly 2/3 of all the countries in the world. Don't you notice that Thailand is a relatively modern nation with very good infrastructure and a literate population? Though far from being a dreamed country, it is not a bad place to live in at all. On the surface, it sounds good that you contributed something back to the host country" by doing a volunteer work. But can't you learn to give without having disdain for the recipient?

We need some staff at the moment, you're both a hard act to follow lol! I expect you will have heard from Carl and the rest of them, I'm sure you will get to know about their Tenerife antics, if not ask about Carl's glasses and who snores the loudest. We have a new addition to the pub - our little smokers den. When I work out how to send photos I will send you some pics of us all in the monsoon season. We are in need of some sun so keep up the news, it brightens up our day! Love Chris xx

Reading this on a Friday night at 8pm, just getting ready to go to Spinney for a few Fosters. It's made me quite thirsty reading this journal. You all look quite at home behind the bar, could almost be the Spinney if you squint your eyes a bit. Well done again Woody for another great read.

Hiya lads Had to put pen to paper - Woody how rude to intrude into the private lives of those poor kangaroos, I was quite disgusted!!! How very dare you! Seriously keep them coming - the photos I mean. Glad to hear u r all okay, I've just worked out what lol means - this email speak is hard for us oldies you know. I loved the last pics on the ranch etc., and Sharpey the housewife's dream - u can knock on my door any day!! Hi Boys, you're not the only ones globetrotting - us old uns (Danny's Nan and Grandad) have crossed the Big Pond and we're in Canada. They don't know what's hit them! Enjoying following your antics in "Sheila Land". We've had many a laugh, keep writing Woody. It's so hot here but nothing a few beers can't put right. Next week we're off to Niagara Falls, might be my big chance to get rid of Grandad! Hope to see you all in February (minus the usual holiday romances) Love Nan and Grandad, Val and Ray (can you remember them?)

Since Facebook, nobody seems to put comments on here, so sorry if it looks like it's me sending comments all the time. Again great journal, gives us an idea where you are staying although some photos look like artist impressions. Haven't seen many Aussie photo's, suppose you are all busy at work or asleep and saving for your next trip. I know you went to a beach the other weekend, what did you get up to? I bet you were trying out your surfing skills. Not sure how good you all are maybe sticking to surfing the web is an easier option. Andy and I off to Sunny Beach, Bulgaria tomorrow for a week, cant wait. Maybe we will post some photos on the facebook (if we can work out how to add an album) Take care, Luv to you all bye for now Pat xxx

Final Journey
Hi Woody, will miss this blog when you get back. It's been great reading what you got up to and can't believe on 28 Jan 2007 we were wishing you all farewell. Where has the year gone. Dan's been back since 13 Dec and feels like he has never been away. Hang on to those memories and see you next weekend, no doubt you will be calling for a pint or 2 in the famous Spinney.
