Funny I was doing a search on buddhavista, and I came across your, "I found a buddhavista that looked just like me" photo. Funny stuff. Looks like you had fun on your trip. Happy travels.

Xi'an I don't know how much time you spent in Xi'an, but you need months to do it justice. There is so much history there and both the town and countryside is absolutely filled with interesting sites that tour books never mention. There is just too much there to see. For instance in the extreme northwest corner inside the walled city is a very interesting working Buddhist temply ... not a tourist trap temple, but a real working one. Many Chinese do not know it is there. I could go on, but space and time do not permit a travelogue of all there is to see in and around Xi'an. I was fortunate and have been there several times working at a university in Xi'an.
Great Blog Hey!
Your blog was great. Where did you hire your guides and would you recommend them again? How many minority villages did you pass through. Was that your tent or your guides. What equipment should I bring.
Thanks,
Governor
