Communication, Not!
Okay this sounds like it was a big test of your main resolve to just go with the flow and immerse yourself in the lifestyles and culture. I probably would have done the same thing but what a big mess to sort out, huh? You still have alot more courage and resolve than I would have. Ever on!

Which one are you?Larry,Curly or Moe?
Dave, I'm sorry but that was a funny story about the motorcycle! I bet you made their year with that one! You are legend in that village now. I also admire your courage. This part of the trip with it being so remote would be very difficult for me, so rock on!

David and Goliath
Dave you look like Goliath next to that man. No wonder you have so many fans. I wonder also how you get along over there without knowing the language and not many knowing english. Stand tall, brother!

Could I simplify like that?
First, I want you to have a great trip. Second, I don't know if I could pack that small but after a few days of carrying it around everywhere I would be glad I did. Third, Why can't we ever invent anything like packing cubes? Then we could be rich and travel the world. Have fun!

Good luck with that!
Dave, if you're anything like me you go into these things with all the best intentions. I'm going to adapt and just go with the flow and I end up trying to arrange everyone else to my way of thinking. Because after all I know better, right? So you're right, this is going to be a valuable and incredible life lesson. It's something that will help with the friends and in relationships. I wish we all could expand ourselves in this way. Keep expanding!

Tailor shop loses money!
I think you did great getting custom made suits(who gets those?)for the price you did. I think they lost some money though on you with you being bigger than their average customer. They probably enjoyed the change. Keep shopping, you never know when you can get back there to get something you missed!

Wow, Dave!! I have loved reading your blog. I just got your link from Scott and had time to sit and read it all at once. I'm glad I got to do it that way, or else I would be up at the crack of dawn to see if you had posted another so I wouldn't be left hanging! What an amazing trip! I can't wait to sit down with you and hear more when you get back. Take care and be safe, Maureen

What a story!
Dave, I have to thank Foster for forwarding me this link. What an amazing trip for you. I am jealous. Our trip in a couple of days to Thailand will only be 15 days. I am hoping to check out your blog every couple of days to see how you're doing. Your narratives are great....almost can feel the heat & humidity. Be safe & enjoy.

Boss on Tour
So we've just seen you off in your cheesey easy-rider helmet and not so cheesey 2 ton bike and then Sun arrived in and he has just told us that the landmines haven't been entirely cleared from the roads round sapa- my advice: aim for the potholes!!! only kidding! have a great trip and be safe. as we say at home: 'Go n-éirigh an bóthar leat' - may the road rise to meet you (aka good luck). love dave and sarah.

HI
I laughed all the way tho, What a experience, now I know that you are on the other side of the world. Last night at this time I looked for your update, and it said that it was updated the August 22 and it was still the 21th. Didn't get it until tonight. So I guess I will always be a day behind. Looks like you got someone to take your picture and not run away with the camera. Glad that you got there safe. Be careful of the flu. MOM
