Hello from the city of "do whatever you feel like doing because it is legal". The first place you are likely to see when you arrive in Amsterdam, besides the train station of course, is the central city area where Heineken bars, and "Coffeeshops" seem to overtake all else. There are of course the falafal shops sandwiched in between and you can rest assured that Burger King and McDonalds have found their way into the line up on the main drag. But, somewhere between the sweet smell of burning pot, beer soaked wooden floors, and fried falafal is a beautiful old city with cobblestone streets and waterways that seem to go on forever.
