Thanks! Thanks for letting us live vicariously thru you and being such persistent writers so we could hear all about your travels - sights, sounds and (almost) tastes!! I have really enjoyed this!!
No Flamenco We missed the Flamenco, but promised to do it the next time. I have seen it many times, but Rachel and Adrienne had not. - W. See you-all soon.

We are staying in Madrid Unfortunately, we aren't going to make it out of Madrid. I have been to Granada twice before, and remember being enchanted by it. We are already talking about going to Barcelona next year. Myabe we'll hit Granada and Sevilla then as well.
Thanks a LOT, Becky Yes, yes, I know we are known, at least I am known, to not be the best dresser at work. However, there IS a difference between us and them -- at least in Madrid!
Rachel! Be More Careful! Thank you Wendy for saving my sister's life. We need her to come back in one piece. Toledo looks gorgeous. A lot prettier than the Toledo I live in. I hope you all are having a wonderful time. I have been reading about all your travels since the orphanage. Drink some sangria for me!
Love,
Jessica
Toledo Hey wasn't this the previous capital of Spain under the Visigoths? It looks like you guys are having a wonderful time...I'm really excited to talk to you when you return...I really would like to spend a good amount of time discussing the attire you've been witnessing (why is it so shocking to you when you both usually dress that way at work?). I really want to know more about your local prostitutes.
Toledo is BEAUTIFUL! You'll love it!
Are you going to the Alhambra in Granada, too? That place was amazing - I could imagine myself living there, back in the day ;-)
Parisian Rudeness Oh yes. When my friend and I were there last year we had one incident where we went to the subway station to buy tickets through the city. We approached the ticket counter and asked both of the attendants if they spoke English even though we had just heard one of them speaking English to the couple in front of us (we just didn't know which one it was). The one woman very bruskly said, "NO" and waved us away with her had while the gentleman smiled rather meekly. At that point we decided we'd continue taking taxis regardless of the expense and I decided I wasn't going back without a much better grasp of the language.
Prostitutes and Starbucks I'm getting a feeling that there must be a connection between the number of prostitutes and the number of Starbucks around your hotel. I guess one gets you up at night and the other gets you up in the morning.
As to gruff, burned-out waiters, come on! You live in Austin, home of the gruff, burned-out waiter! Next time, just pop outside and get him a hooker. That's a nice tip! Or maybe a cup of coffee.....
Good job, Adrienne! I was wondering if you ladies would be getting your hair done in Paris. It just seemed like the thing to do. Adrienne, your hair looks MUCH better than that old Venus gal. Can't wait to see it in person!
Oh, Starbucks!!! You are back in civilization! I've so enjoyed reading your adventures abroad. Keep 'em coming.
Your Paris experience sounds like it was a bit different than mine. I think it proves my theory that, at least in France, it's best to know the language before you go.
Be safe. See you soon!

Is the baby an alien? Could Scully be giving birth to an alien? No, no, that would be her former co-stars child. Just remember that the fickle finger of fate makes fame fleeting. Say that three times fast. Gillian Anderson who? Is she on Lost? Hee, hee.
Glad you're having a good time, but you are missed. Can't wait to hear about all this in person.
Sephora is ... Check it out at www.sephora.com. We both bought stuff there. Yes, we both got samples, but only 1 each! Must be packed and checked -- not on the cabin! At least that is our current understanding.
W.
What's Sephora? Ooooh lah lah! I can only surmise this is some kind of female toiletry company. Did Adrienne get any free samples, and will she be allowed to take them on the plane?
Thanks, Carol I'm so happy you are reading us, Carol. We do have tons of stories and photos. We arrived in Paris today, and all is well. Keep the AMD fires burning! Wendy
Happy Adventures Hi Adrienne and Wendy,
Just a quick note to say how proud I am of your volunteer work in the orphanage. It's great that you both did something so meaningful during your sabbatical. I haven't had time to fully read all your travel adventures, but I can imagine the stories you will have when you return. Safe travels to you and thanks for being such an inspiration. The photos are great! Take care, Carol
Nice Hats! Sorry, but you look goofy to me. Hey, who's taking these pictures of you two, anyway? I guess after your adventures in Moldova, eating food dropped from a hole in the ceiling probably seems rather ho-hum to you. Can't wait to see and hear more about your travels. We miss you!
Wendy and I have been friends and coworkers for 8 years. We started working at the same company 3 weeks apart from each other, so we became eligible to take a 2 month sabbatical at the same time. Not wanting to waste this opportunity watching game shows and soap operas for eight weeks, we decided to take off and explore the world together. Wendy is an experienced international traveler and even lived in Spain for a year. The farthest that I have been from the US is Jamaica.
Wendy leaves behind her son and her precious dog, Zina. I am leaving my husband and my dog Ava. Hopefully with this b... full info
