"they set off in search of adventure"

There you have it, the abbreviated definition of "Adventure". So maybe my usage of the word "Adventure" in our tittle may be a bit ambitious, considering I doubt if we will climb any Volcanos, or float on inter tubes down any rivers (although that sounds fun), we probably won't go spelunking in caves, really I don't see us doing anything too risky unless you count riding a bus, which I suppose can be risky! Well I am excited to go and see all the Amazing things Guatemala has to offer and to share them with my friend Vicki, being that this is her first trip. I may have been to Guatemala many times over the last 24 years, yet I am always in awe of the dramatic beauty of Guatemala. The extremes of Guatemala are truly worth seeing no matter how many times you have seen them. everything is so dramatic from its Cone shaped Volcanos, The Awesome Lago de Atitlan with is shimmering deep blue waters surrounded by pointy Volcanos and small villages. Then To the north the Grand Mayan Temples of Tikal that are over 2000 years old, to the West you have the thundering black volcanic beaches of the Pacific, head over to the East where HUGE Banana Plantations edge the Caribbean. For many their main visit centers on the Central Highlands where you have "La Antigua" a UNESCO World Heritage Site. This incredible piece of History, a city that takes you back in time with Grand square parks filled with benches of people enjoying coffee or just visiting. Antigua is filled with amazing Old Spanish Baroque style Churches shrouded in Catholic Religious Art and tradition. While walking the streets you had better have good shoes and a map because the streets are narrow cobble stone leading you in all directions, you never know what you'll stumble on, and yes that can be taken two ways. Then you have the Western Highlands here you can see the people still maintaining their tradition of wearing their incredible and colorful hand-woven clothing, well the list just goes on. I hope you will come back and check out my blog because I plan on taking lots of pictures and what fun is taking a picture without being able to share them? Bien hasta que nos vemos otra vez (Goodbye until we see each other again!)
